Juan Gon or Burnitz?

Featured Replies

Guys, I am back from Italy now. I see we are over .500 and under 5 games of WC berth (2 predictions I thought would be necessary for us to happen by AS break in order to keep this team together :cool :mischief ;) ). And since this is happening, what is the story with Juan Gon or even Burnitz? This topic has surfaced on ESPN boards too...

I'm with Ramp on Gonzalez !!!

This year, 23 Homeruns, 65 RBIs

Last seven days, 5 Homeruns, 11 RBIs

WOW WOW WOW Sure could of used him against the Cubs!!!!!!!

I think the adjustment is too big...Nitz knows the pitching and the ballparks. Juan is used to offense friendly AL and his own hitter dominant home park. But I could be totally wrong.

Yea, Burnitz would be great to have obviously, but I would have to go with Juan Gon. Maybe I would be persuaded because Burnitz knows NL pitchin and Gonzalez doesn't, but Juan is the better player.

I think you're totally wrong. :shifty

Juan easily has the home run power of Burnitz, if not more. Plus he's hit everywhere he's been.

:thumbup

Juan-gone burnitz is just having a lucky season but juan always does good!

There's no such thing as a "lucky" season...

i know u are but wat am i j/k look at last season he hit like .250 and this year is his best since 1999 .

Which means it isn't lucky. He's always had the ability to do this well.

I Like Burnitz but Juan Gonzalez is having a big year. He has like 15+ Homers? He is doing great and he ha been in this game a long time. I would pick Juan Gon

Burnitz, 18 HR's

Gonzalez, 23 HR's

I wouldnt mind having either one of them, they would both make the team better in there own ways. But if i had to choose one I would go with juan gon, because I think he would help out by adding some sure power in the line-up.

Cmon, no such thing as a lucky season? Brady Anderson hitting 50 HRs wasnt a little bit lucky?

Anyway, Juan Gone is a no-brainer. The guy is an RBI machine and has tremendous power. He would totally change our lineup and greatly enhance our offense immediately. Burnitz would improve it, but I truthfully would have to re-consider sending Cabs down if we got Burnitz. With Juan Gone, Cabs is down - no question.
