When he didnt stand it wasnt to protest the war like everyone falsely believes. It was solely to protest the weapons testing in that island near to puerto rico. A typical liberal does not necessarily equate with a communist. There are similar tendencies, since it is in the "left", but such an analysis can be done for the right as well. Just making a point more about social conservatism that the Nazi's were. Communists were socially liberal in theory. Now to not say a person like Stalin wasn't a fascist is totally irresponsible. None of which were present in stalinist russia. Stalin was a transitional marxist, he was leading the country until the technology would be self sustaining and a communist reality can exist. Sometimes these two centers compete with each other as they are now doing in the Congo) 12) Resist any attempt to outlaw the Communist Party 13) Do away with loyalty oaths 14) Continue giving Russia access to the US Patent Office 15) Capture one or both of the political parties in the US 16) Use technical decisions of the courts to weaken basic American institutions, by claiming their activities violate civil rights. 17) Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for Socialism, and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of teachers associations. Put the party line in text books. 18) Gain control of all student newspapers 19) Use student riots to foment public protests against programs or organizations which are under Communist attack. 20) Infiltrate the press. Get control of book review assignments, editorial writing, policy-making positions. 21) Gain control of key positions in radio, TV & motion pictures. 22) Continue discrediting American culture by degrading all form of artistic expression. An American Communist cell was told to "eliminate all good sculpture from parks and buildings", substitute shapeless, awkward, and meaningless forms. 23) Control art critics and directors of art museums. To put it in a way you can understand, neither is good. You wanna know the difference between liberals and conservatives? They both love America, but in different ways. Conservatives love America like a 5 year old loves someone. That they can do no wrong no matter what, and anyone who questions it is bad. Liberals love for America is like adult love. We love America just as much, but we realize it has flaws and makes mistakes, so we point them out so they can be fixed, so this country doesn't get destroyed from the inside. When we see the people (AKA Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeild, Rice) that are ruining the life of someone we love, we want them out of there life. I think the reason for this is because liberals have much higher mental capacities. Why do you think most occupations where the average intelligence is higher than the general population are mostly liberal? Why are most college campuses filled with liberals? Because a higher percentage of liberals are smart enough to go to college. And what's more patriotic? Seeing your nation's flaws and mistakes, doing something so they can be fixed, and therefore trying to prevent itself from being destroyed from within? The main difference b/w liberals and conservatives, (and unlike you i will give an unbiased definition) is that a (modern) conservative believes that ina free country we should be free to exercise our freedom to the fullest extent and that the only role of govt is to protect our security and also to preserve traditional values, so that by doing that the free people will have a moral blueprint to contro ltheir actions. The liberals believe that we need to be thankful for our freedoms and that not everyone has the opportunity to take advantage of them. So govt must take an active role in making sure that everyone gets an equal opportunity. Liberals however, feel that it is NOT the govt's role to control the moral compass. Theres a good explanation for you guys. And i wont argue the merits of the war but its much more complicated than you make it seem.
