Who honeslty feels we can do something with Cabrera in LF. Ok he's a good hitter 11 of his 15 hits are for extra basehits and he has came up in the clutch and delivered but he's still a rookie. I am not bashing Miguel but he is a rookie and that's what it comes down to. Can we rely on a rookie if LF?!?! :mischief2

As long as the production is there...Abe Nunez needs a chance this year or we might as well trade him because hes going to be decent at worst.

I think we can...i watch him every game and he has tremendous potential, day by day he's getting more and more used to ML pitching, and staying back and driving the ball...i really expect Cab's to do well in the 2nd half.

He also made a nice transition of 3rd to LF, he looks really comfortable out there and has made some nice throws to gun down runners and made some nice catches.

IMO i think he will start being a more consistent hitter in the 2nd half

Bubba Trammell would be a good bat on the bench and can play OF. If the Yanks let him go we can sign him to a minor league contract or a cheap major league contract.

agree with u :thumbup

it would be better if we had a proven bat in LF

it would be better if we had a proven bat in LF ..I agree with ramp

Cabs has done pretty well, let's give him the chance to prove himself, then we'll have a proven bat in LF :D

give Cab's a chance for a while...he's slowly but surely getting more used to ML pitching, and is staying back on pitches and driving them.

i like this kid

i like him too...

but he is still very young, and a veteran may be better at this point

but ill take Cabs

cabs is the man!! or kid :mischief2 .. but yea we need a veteran in there to make this big run he still can come off the bench!

no.

he would be demoted

I wouldn't touch Bubba Trammell with a ten foot pole!

Bubbas #'s New York Yankees 22 55 4 11 5 0 0 5 16 6 10 0 0 .279 .291 .200

no homerun, 200 Batting average...*shudders*

Brad Penny is a better hitter :plain

What sayeth thou to someone like Rondell White...?

  • Author

RONDELL WHITE!! I agree I've said it all along Rondell is the man reminds me of cliffy is that a bad thing? Not the same power but still... Or like I was saying if Rondell isn't available why not conine and lightenberg add pitching depth and a bat! He'll play LF

I think we could manage to get Rondell...he would be an unbelievable addition...but for some reason why do I think he has a no trade clause?

  • Author

I doubt he has a no trade clause. That only goes to players like juan gone,a roger clems etc.. but who knows

You're right, at least about Abraham Nunez and our need to trade him.

Last year we found out he was two years older than he claimed, he had a mediocre year last year batting about .250 in a hitter's league, and while he's hit well since coming off the DL, let's see what he does for the rest of the season. Last year with the Fish he stunk up the joint in September.

If we can package him in a deal, I say do it. Many people thought he had major league potential, that is until they found out he wasn't 25, he was 27. Having listened to a couple dozen Cannons games last year and following the team daily, I think I can say with some authority he looks to me to be no more than a AAA player or a utility player at best in the Bigs.

But we'll see, maybe he can put it together this summer and prove me and alot of others wrong. I hope so. Nothing I'd like better than to see him live up to his hype, but at this point in his career i rather doubt it.

i dont think Rondell has a no trade clause

cabrera is doing ok.

but he is batting under .250

this team could use an upgrade in left field.

that and a left handed reliever and this team may be good to go.

How about a trade like this:

Marlins get: Karim Garcia ($900,000) OR Ruben Sierra ($600,000), Al Reyes ($????)

Yankees get: Andy Fox ($800,000), Abraham Nunez ($????)

Marlins get either the young Garcia (a lefty) or the veteran Sierra (switch hitter), and Al Reyes, a pretty good reliever. Yanks get Fox to bolster their bench and Nunez for...whatever. Also gives the Fish a chance to promote a Kevin Hooper or Jesus Medrano.

Isn't Ruben Sierra 176 years old?

37...

Yankees laugh in our face

no point for them to make that deal
