well i just got home from a longer-than-i-thought bus ride from ft. myers. we played the red sox in a make up / split squad game today. ended up losing 5-3. only 3 runs we got all game were off the starter - david wells. castillo led off with a single. then easley hit a double. then encarnacion popped out. then dillon hit a single to left to score both. joe's looking better at the plate. even said he felt better taking batting practice today because he wasn't swinging so hard. of course i still think i hit the most homeruns during batting practice - gotta have some sort of fun out there while trying to work on things at the same time ya know. les walrond gave up 2 runs in 4 innings. brian corey took the loss when he gave up 3 runs in his lone inning of work (the bottom of the 7th). ben howard threw the 8th and went 3 up 3 down, striking out the last guy on a fastball inside.

i can't really remember who else did what, as i was busy running back and forth to the bullpen since the 3rd - until the time i went in the game. plus the pitching mounds are behind the fence in right field, so you really can't see what goes on.

red sox came with their big dogs today - except for johnny damon (who criticized us in a newspaper article today) and renteria. manny ramirez isn't as big as i thought he was - i guess t.v. really does add 10 extra pounds like they say it does. of course varitek is one huge s.o.b. he's even got a C on his shirt because he's the captian of their squad. i don't know if any other major league team does that, do they ?

we watched collateral on the bus trip home. i've seen it before, so i caught a few z's early on in the movie. even after it was over we still had an hour's worth of driving to do. some of the guys were playing cards - a game called pluck - it's much like spades, except the trump suit changes every time with whatever the dealer decides to call. for now i'm starving, so i have to get something to eat.

I never heard of that before :confused Do the Marlins have a captian?

Shhh I am being too busy being a lefty.

The Mets had Franco as their captain. I think they were the first to come up with it. Right now I think only the Red Sox and the Yanks have captains. Im not sure if Jeter wears a C on his uniform though.

Oh, and Arod was named the Rangers captain right before he was traded.

Cool..I havn't read his journels since they have been on here, so I don't know if this has been asked, and how many times. Does Jorgy visit this site? That would be pretty cool..

Sosa was the Cubs' captain and wore a "C" on his jersey for pretty long time... I'm almost certain he was the first one to pull that off.

There's no doubt in my mind Lowell should have a big "C" on his jersey, too.

I woulda thought Manny woulda been huge. He looks it. S.O.B....haha! Thats retarted that Damon took a shot at us, that biatch. To think i was a fan...anyways, keep it up Jorgy!
