Juan Encarnacion seems to be much more patient at the plate than in seasons past. He had a walk today that was very impressive (to me at least). Could last season's woes truly be a result of the shoulder injury?

Juan is not running as fast as he should be. Of course he's not going to admit it, but he's still hurting a lot. I love his positivity and optimism, but I'd like for him to take a day or two off if that's what it'll take for him to get back to normal.

Paul LoDuca is doing a great job calling pitches. Yesterday, he had Beckett throwing curves at the right time, and positioning the ball well. Today with Leiter, he worked to Leiter's strengths and went with the offspeed stuff when he needed to. Overall, you gotta give the catcher a whole bunch of credit for the Marlins giving up 2 runs in 22 innings.

Baseball is a great sport, in that the pain of a loss doesn't sting for more than 24 hours. You get to go back the next day and redeem yourself. Hopefully, AJ helps me come out of the quasi-depression state that I'm currently in.

Alex Gonazalez is going to have another medicore year at the plate.

I think Agon will continue to be a very streaky hitter, I expect him to be about the same he was last year as a player when it's all said and done, a little worse maybe a little better then last year, but about the same. I remeber him being almost an automatic out in the begining of last year before he turned it on.

I think itll take a while for Gonzo to improve. Right now were seeing nothing but fly balls and strike outs basically. JP isnt running as fast as he could, but he is determined and a hard worker. Hell be his normal self again. I think the addition of Leiter helped young pitchers and LoDuca has improved this year. I agree Enc is much improved than last year, were going to see a great year from him.Last nights lost was bad, but we got some great guys.

AGon could've changed the outcome if he didn't ground into a double play, but he did save at least one run. Still, they should start Easley tonight to get some offense against Hudson.

No way dude. I like Easley but this is not the time to bring him in.

You forgot to mention that at least he made contact and the only run of the game scored.

Six double plays. Is that not "situational" hitting?

Six guys couldn't get the ball into the outfield with runners on base?

Bill Robinson should be removed. He is, again, worthless.

one of the double plays was on a fly to left

one was on a failed bunt attempt by one of the better bunters in baseball

and correct me if Im wrong but wasnt one a lineout and JP got out at 2nd?

those arent Robinson's fault

Well if AGon doesn't hit this year...at least he will be cheap as a free agent this offseason.

:lol

he will make $5mil+ somewhere

Gonzalez will never produce consistently until he improves his plate discipline -- batting in the 8th hole -- he gives no reason for any pitcher to throw him strikes when they know hes going to swing at a fastball over his head or a breaking ball in the dirt.

I still think the Marlins should move Alex to the 7th slot and Juan to the 8th -- especially since Enc seems to be improving his eye at the dish. Hitting after the big guys, Gonzalez will get alot of pitches to hit -- and probably wouldnt be the hole in the lineup he is right now.
