i hate ratzinger.

he will probably get it to further annoy me and make me hate furhter my church's own stupid policies.

oh well, i'll just continue doin as i have been doing.

and how would that be? what's driving the church back to the 1tth century to you?

nothing yet.

granted right now the church is somewhere in the 14th century.

but with ratzinger being more hardcore conservative than jp II he will drive the church backwards in terms of modernity.

but what do you call modernity and the church being in the 14th century? how will he take it back to the 11th century. in other words, what factual attitudes do you think make the church be stuck in midevil times.

well lets see

the biggest two are

priesthood

birth control

not to mention all the silly 'rituals' that are direcly from medieval times.

It has been ruled that betting on the Pope is an instant excommunication. If you don't get caught by the church then it is just between you and the man upstairs.

nothing wrong with the rituals. adds a sense of history, continuity, importance.

about birth control, what's wrong with it? if people don't want to get inffected with HIV and other sex transmitted viruses then they shouldn't be sleeping around and only have sex with the person they are married with. they wouldn't have any problems if they did that.

nothing wrong with the rituals. adds a sense of history, continuity, importance.

that's right. but most women have a very reliable biological schedule, which if you obey i nothing happens. besies, children are a blessing.

yep ... i feel blessed everytime someone has more kids than they can support

I love the thought process behind NFP, where using a thermometer to get a reading from inside a woman every day, and then charting it and scheduling all activity around this chart and then hoping that there are not mishaps is more acceptable than just wearing a condom

both techniques are designed to prevent sperm from hitting a fertile egg, both are relatively safe ... but one is deemed wrong for some unknown reason
