Barmes out 3 months

Featured Replies

Clint Barmes is expected to miss at least three months with a broken clavicle, ESPN reports.

Barmes was hurt carrying groceries last night. Desi Relaford will take over as the Rockies' primary shortstop, making Luis Gonzalez the everyday second baseman until Aaron Miles returns. The Rockies will probably call up Tim Olson to serve as a backup. Barmes' injury should help Miles and Garrett Atkins, as they will get to be everyday players without interference from Relaford. It will hurt Todd Helton, who now figures to get even fewer RBI chances. Jun. 6 - 4:26 pm et

Those groceries are death traps.

no argument there, I think this tops Griffey's inury of moving some boxes around, and Sosa's brutal sneeze

He was climbing stairs with groceries and fell.

The reason he didn't take the elevator: It was taking too long to come down.

Rockies season went from bad to worse because of an elevator.

Although it really cant get THAT much worse

It will most likely take more than 3 months... I broke my collarbone last year and it took 2 months without surgery... I feel his pain, he will be in hell for atleast 2-3 weeks

They might be better off without surgery.

Eric Johnson and Terrell Owens both had broken clavicles. Johnson had surgery, Owens did not. Owens healed so well, and Johnson was not coming along so they rebroke Johnson's to let it heal like Owens'.

Charles Rogers... first he broke it, let it heal naturally, then broke it the next season and had surgery... supposedly surgery is suppose help since they insert a placeholder for the 2 bones... I know I didn't want to go through that.

expensive groceries. I hope he saved the coupon.

What is it with Colorado and stairs. Didnt a QB fall down them a while back and get hurt?
