June 15, 200521 yr I'll say Al because he is a veteran and I think he can still come around and string together a few good outings....
June 15, 200521 yr Nate Bump 810684 Agree. I've always thought he would do better as a starter than a reliever anyways.
June 15, 200521 yr It's gotta be Al, unless the FO wants to gamble with one of the prospects, but i'd rather not see guys like Bazardo in there, who isn't close to ready to be a major leaguer.
June 15, 200521 yr They should just give Olsen a chance since he can't do any worse than Leiter. The front office will put Leiter in though.
June 15, 200521 yr The Olsen-Johnson guys are hard to make a judgement on right now... It's probably Leiter & maybe Bump for a 5th starter if they need him. Can someone give the skinny on Josh Johnson right now? I know he's been pitching well in the minors but is he still far away from the bigs? What kind of timetable might he be on if he continues to pitch well? Would he be a likely candidate at all?
June 15, 200521 yr Anyone who thinks anyone other than Al should be the guy to step in in dillusional.
June 15, 200521 yr I don't like the idea of calling up any of the AA guys, but Johnson would be the most logical choice.
June 15, 200521 yr Leiter will get the start but if not, I think Bump should be given consideration. The more I think of his demotion, the more it ticks me off especially after the wonderful job the bullpen did last night in Chicago!
June 15, 200521 yr the article on the official site mentions Prieto and Walrond....they must be smokin something.
June 15, 200521 yr I have to admit, I wouldn't mind seeing Todd Jones start. I think he could handle roughly 5 or 6 innings.
June 16, 200521 yr I have to admit, I wouldn't mind seeing Todd Jones start. I think he could handle roughly 5 or 6 innings. 811388 Thank you
June 16, 200521 yr I have to admit, I wouldn't mind seeing Todd Jones start. I think he could handle roughly 5 or 6 innings. 811388 He's doing completly awesome in the pen. If he's doing awesome in his role, there's no sense moving him.
June 16, 200521 yr To be honest with you, Al Leiter might be a good option, who knows - maybe being 'sent to the pen' was what he needed to pitch like a man.
