RockyMountainMarlin
They said that the Orioles GM were discussing trade options with their coaches before the game. O's are desperate for a proven pitcher. FYI, "eom" is placed on the subject line not in the msg itself.

RockyMountainMarlin
this erin chick who is doing interviews on teh field for thursday night baseball has a RACK! :arms 845325[/snapback] Great observation. (She is a Gator btw) Anyways, back to the topic, Cabrera got a bit wild but managed to get out of the inning without too much damange. He is a strikeout pitcher and doesn't mind throwing many pitches to get a guy out.
Accord
Now they're talking about how the D-Train will win the Cy Young.

Marlins2003
You know, the phrase "effectively wild" has often been used in connection with AJ Burnett, but this kid Cabrera just plain wild. He's got zero control, it doesn't appear to me (or the guys calling the game) that he has even the faintest idea where the ball is going to wind up. Then there's his mound presence...wow. I guess this what you call "raw" talent.
Marlins2003
New pitcher for the O's, lefty Tim Byrdak (sp). I guess they had enough of Cabrera's wildness tonight.
Marlins2003
The O's are in rain delay, so they're showing the Yankees/Cleveland game if anyone is interested.

Ramp
jeez 03... the way you were talking about him I assumed he got lit up apparently he was effectively wild tonight
Marlins2003
You should have seen him Mav, really he was awful
rferry
I was at Camden Yards tonight Terrible Would have been 'awful', but some credit needs to go to Sox batters and O's defense
Hotcorner
Effectively wild? Who else does that sound like....? :whistle
strandedx02
Cabrera looks a lot like another AJ...nice stuff (though his fastball is more mid-90's than upper-90's), struggles with his control. The rain tonight wasn't helping, if anyone saw in the 5th inning jam he wasn't comfortable with the mound.
Marlins2003
He stunk from pitch one.
Fishfan79
the kid has possibilities to work with. But, he will take a few years and by then he will be a free agent. I dont know, I rather take him and Penn if we are taking their offer. But, really I dont think this kid is the answer for us. We have talents like him in the minors already. MarlinFan10
The guy did outstanding under Wiley while he was still pitching coach in Baltimore.
rferry
That's true. He started out real hot last year.
Fishfan79
supposedly they pulled cabrera out of the deal and wanted us to take penn instead. Which translated to. Marlins= no WC race for this year
TSwift25
I watched a little bit of Cabrera's performance last night. Must say, I liked Cabrera's stuff, but he is so wild that trading one million dollar arm with a ten cent head for another really doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. I guess it goes back to the "better the devil you know" argument.
