August 21, 200521 yr I was surprised at mine, i could have SWORN that it was my introduction... but i wasnt... mine: On Josh Willingham 12/30/04 The contact that came off of his bat was amazing. He was retired a few times on great defensive plays, dives, and guys just being in the right place at the right time, but he can be the next Lowell the way he was swinging. With Jack as the Manager, you know that if he sees performance, he may sit one player for 2, 3, or 4 games to let the other shine, like we saw with Lenny's hot streak last year. I think that If Willie gets another shot, he can impress. I'm really hopeing he can make the team, cause i'm thinking were going to get results from that kid..

August 22, 200521 yr I refuse to repost my first post. I just read it and I finally realize why some people thought I was gay. Holy s***. Just reading that post annoyed even me.
August 22, 200521 yr Author I refuse to repost my first post.? I just read it and I finally realize why some people thought I was gay.? Holy s***.? Just reading that post annoyed even me. 910797 Marlinfan253's 1st post...: Does anyone have more information about betcris.com and their proposal to pay for the remaining gap of funds for the new stadium as long as they get naming rights? I read a little bit about out it on CapeFish's website but I want to know more about it. I REALLY hope this is true and I hope a deal can be reached. I'd hate to lose the Marlins... Of course, that may seem a little funny considering I don't even live in Florida. The Marlins became my favorite team while I lived in Texas and it was before they started playing. My Dad got me a Marlins hat as a gift and I thought new baseball teams were really cool. (I was 10 at the time). Ever since then, they have been my favorite team. I even root for them over my hometown teams. I love them a lot and the thought of them moving to Vegas makes me sick. I watch every game on the internet because ESPN is too stupid to televise more games. Luckily, I can catch them on TBS when they play my least favorite team in the league. I can't stand the Braves. Anyway, I am new to this site so that is why I decided to give a little background about myself. I have never met any other Marlins fans other than myself. What is really sad is the fact that I have never even been to a game, but that is about to change because I bought a ticket to see the Marlins play the Cubs on June 13th. I am REALLY REALLY REALLY looking forward to it.? :blueinnocent

August 22, 200521 yr 856500 Palm Beach is a bigger market than Jacksonville. US Census the Ft Lauderdale/Broward area is only 600k less than Miami and is far more condensed, since Broward is probably less than half the size of Dade & Palm Beach. West Palm does have 1.1 mil less than Miami, but Melbourne adds 476k to that and Ft. Pierce/Port St. Lucie adds 319k as well, so the amount of people living within say 2 hours of the stadium wouldn't be effected as negatively as youd think. Homestead to Boca is about 1 hours 45 mins, Melbourne to Boca is about 2 hours 15 mins...granted this isnt factoring in rush hour and what not I live in Coral Springs (but go to UCF), so going to the current stadium isnt bad since its right on the county line, but the Orange Bowl is about 90 mins plus due to bad traffic, plus horrible parking and so on. Boca is a much better area to put a stadium in. Its not that bad of an option, do I think it will ever happen...no. Just because you've gotten yousta driving 15-30 mins to the stadium, doesnt mean you should stop because its going to be 45-60 mins now. Thats what it is for most of us. The team would be fine in either area, just keep them here. about the new stadium...not your average first post eh?

August 22, 200521 yr If mine is right.. I joined in September of 2002, yet didnt post untill february of 2003...
August 23, 200521 yr http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?...1/30/GIANTS.TMP Atleast we can now really focus on going after Pavano or sighning other free agents on the market
August 23, 200521 yr I have a different suggestion. Since they want to use the naming rights as revenue and trading anybody would just be bad, I propose opening various prop designs and special stadium events (scoreboard, homerun celebrator, strikeout counter, etc.) up for corporate sponsorship. Like the giant Coke bottle at Fenway. We could have a giant robot marlin "jumping out of the water" with a logo on it for a homerun. Or put little logos on the Ks. What do you guys think? 780412
