Jack McKeon's contract

Featured Replies

Does anyone know when Jack's contract is up for renewal?? If so, does he plan on retiring at his age??

Please advise.

If the Fish make the playoffs you can be sure Jack will be back in 2006.

He is getting up there in age, and he might want to go out on a high note i.e. us making the playoffs and leading us to 3 consecutive winning seasons.

No argument here. I guess what I was suggesting was if we make the playoffs and he wants to come back, he does.

Sooo!! I normally do not troll other boards, but many questions have come up here in Chicago. The man is like 74 from what I have seen. Do you folks think we can have him, or will he retire. Sorry for this, but your 03 victory parade came right by my house off Las Olas.

A few weeks ago I was a little bummed out about the team's playing and was wondering if McKeon has really done much for us other than the World Series, and now that you mention it, 3 winning seasons in a row is a very good thing for this club.

imo, no matter what, Jack retires

Jack McKeons contract is up after this season, whether he will re-sign is yet to be seen, maybe if we do make the playoffs, I can see him coming back with maybe somebody new at the 3rd base and bench coach positions, although I personally don't want Jeff Cox to leave, some may bash me for that statement, but HEY I am entitled to my opinion.

Jeffrey Loria told Jack after he is done with the marlins he has a spot in the front office.

Dusty Baker is worth less than Ted Williams' frozen head.

FWIW, in this week's Sports Weekly:

"The Marlins are telling managerial candidates that manager Jack McKeon will be replaced this winter. Davey Johnson, named field manager for the minor league professional team that will represent the U.S. at the 2005 International Baseball Federation World Cup, is considered the front-runner."
