And Morris has been inconsistent this season and was horrible in '04. Millwood is making $7 million, he will be around $10 mil as well. I was at every game Marlins-Nats game in DC and I did not come away with a single autograph. Thats not b/c the guys wouldnt sign, but b/c I didn't want to inconvience them. I want them all to concentrate on making the playoffs not on signing. I dont believe that players should sign at any stadium before a game. however, I do expect EVERY player to be courteous and respectful of the fans. I wish I could play baseball everyday and be overpaid to do it. I am just saying that in a perfect world players would be more cordial. Thats all. In AJ's case he was blantantly taking the opportunity to make an ass out of himself at a time when everyone else was celebrating a momentous occasion in Marlins history. I for one dont want to hear about how may be pitching for a division rival next year and frankly if he were any type of professional he wouldnt be concerned with next year until this year is over. Here is an example in the real working world of what he did. Suppose you worked at K-mart and you were talking to some customers. All the while your boss is standing close by as well. All of the sudden, you blurt out how much it sucks at Kmart and you were going to go work at wal-mart b/c more people shop at wal mart. that would probably infuritate the loyal customers of kmart. I dont know......................maybe its too much to ask but nontheless I left a game last night with a horrible taste in my mouth when I should have been stoked about dontrelle's achievement. At the very least, thats not right.

September 10, 200521 yr Author last nights performance and his performance over the last three to four weeks makes me wonder if he isnt in some sort of slump that players get in when they know they are going to move on. the guy could give up a ton of runs and lose every start, the money will be there for him from some team. He is now my least favorite Marlin player ever now. The guy seems like he has shut it down going into the stretch and if thats the case he shouldnt get another start. what a bum!

September 10, 200521 yr FWIW, AJ hasn't been doing the interview scene after games during his recent stretch of bad outings. It's concerning that he hasn't been able to "pitch" in big games this year, or hold leads in "winnable ballgames" like last night and against the Mets in Shea earlier in the year (June, I believe), but to say he completely doesn't care is a little inaccurate. Am I sick of his act? Sure, but I still want him to be a contributing part of this team, and I would like to see him back next year at what figures to be a reduced cost.
September 10, 200521 yr and he is the one that is quoted as saying he wants its more then anything to get into the playoffs b/c he was injured in 2003. well he sure as hell doesnt act nor pitch like it. i think its a case of him thinking his s*** doesnt stink. perhaps he needs to just sit on the top step of the dugout tonight and watch very carefully how a pitcher pitches and not tries to blow every hitter away. you get my point

For all you know Dontrelle, Pierre, and Hermida club baby seals during the off season and just put on an act to the media. So let's not judge player's characters by little sounds bytes we hear on the news or blurbs we see in the papers, that is hardly a comprehensive look at who they are. Amatuer analysis of body language is another thing I wish people cut down on, too. Either way, we wouldn't be talking about this if he weren't pitching so lousy lately.
