Baker more than likely said something about Carpenter hitting Burnitz. Between innings Carpenter was extremely pissed and La Russa asked what Baker did.. This is brewing pretty fast.. His ERA is up to 2.44 which is just ahead of Dontrelle's 2.48 and now behind Pettitte's 2.43 ERA. Just thought I'd let ya know.. Carp: 2 IP, 4 ER, 4 H, 1 BB, 0 K.. Edit - After walking Lee he got a groundout and dp.. 2.43 ERA but still.. I hate Dusty!!!

Leaving D-Train in to face Abreu was the correct move at that time. Dontrelle had already struck him out 3 times. Dontrelle did get the double play ball, so it worked out as it should. All that being said, I would have started the 9th with Jones since Dontrelle already had 110 pitches and we need to keep him fresh in case we want him to go to on short rest.

I still think Dontrelle has a chance as does Carpenter.. Carp has two more starts and will most likely be limited in those games so Dontrelle could finish with more wins, etc.

I don't blame Jack for the loss certainly, just don't agree with the call.
