Should Redman have talked to the press?

Featured Replies

For sure. Any publicity is good publicity.

Hate > Apathy

im glad he did, he is one the leaders of the Ball Club u all know that..... da Pitching Staff looks up to em well adleast D.Train does.....

he is a Vet and hard working, and all the Umps did was make his Words look good...

Yes, that umpire was Randy's brother and i know he did it on purpose. Good Job Redman!

how exaclty do you know?

This makes Redman look like a total crybaby and whiner.

What a joke. An utter and complete joke.

Why? Because you cant stand the fact that your team is now the WC leader because you got some help from Wolf?

Why because your a homer and refuse to look outside the box?

A guy who is a sub for umps that are away is not going to risk getting back by screwing over a team that's a divisional rival of his brother's. Once again I'm telling you Those suspicious birds that fly over the pro are plotting against The Fish because one of them is Ricky Ledee's b*tch.

This should not be as big as it has gotten.

how exaclty do you know?

Well, He is his brother and The Phils and marlins are fighting for the Wildcard so thats how i know.

Freakin homers, Is A Fish's loss ever THERE fault? If you remember The guys that were put on by questionable calls were hit home. Who's fault was that, oh yeah The Pitchers.

Let me guess Wolf is also a mind reader and knew they were going to be hit home.

Please

That's how I know?

So your saying that he became an umpire just so he can come up one day and screw The Marlins?

Your saying that he is going to risk his reputation and future of being labeled as a cheater to help his brother.

Your saying that umpires went on vacation just so Wolf could come up and screw THe Fish.

This makes Redman look like a total crybaby and whiner.

Oh give it a rest man....

Redman never accuses him of anything per se, just states that it crosses players' minds sometimes and that it can be a perception problem. Exactly where does he say that Wolf is doing anything wrong? There were a few blown calls in the game that have been blown out of proportion and it's an issue, whether you agree with it or not (I don't think it's a problem personally)...

but to say he's whining and crying about it is pretty weak. he's already said he didn't pitch well that game, i fail to see where he's blaming the ump.

reporters asked him a question, he commented.

and that freakin 15mph wind blowing out didnt help Big Red's cause(exhibit A:Beltre's hr)

Redman raised a legitimate point.

Wolf's brother made two bad calls at first in the game HE pitched. these two calls affected the game. One mistake went home to score, he isn't being a crybaby, he is calling attention to something that is unethical.

Why can't Wolf just go to the AL? Eliminate any doubt? It wouldn't hurt him? It can hurt the other NL Wildcard competetors if Wolf is allowed to call their games.

Let me get this straight. Randy Wolf is a pitcher for the Phils. His brother is a minor-league ump, trying to get to the Show full time.

Jim Wolf: "Here's the best way to make my career really work for me. Violate the cardinal rule of umpiring (ie: bias) to screw the Marlins and boost the Phils."

"My career is totally worth helping my bro's team win the freakin' NL Wild Card, especially since it seems that they can't do it by themselves, despite the fact that they lead by half a game. Heck, maybe Randy will pay me back with some free playoff tickets and give me his Wild Card winners share to help me out -- since I've been fired from my job."

"I'll get that Mike Redman and rest of those meddlin' Marlins if it's the last thing I do!"

Do *some* (read: not all) of you people know how ridiculous you sound?

Do *some* (read: not all) of you people know how ridiculous you sound?

Remember to include yourself in this statement.

Wolf's brother made two bad calls at first

can i make a little change to that ? It was 3 bad calls

1st - S.Green

2nd - R.Henderson

3rd - J.Burnitez

all i gotta say is....

it's over, its done, we won those games even with the bad calls, and they said he wont be umpin when we play the phill's (he better not)

so im over it

I am going to say this, but no one will read my damn post anyway. Redman is right on because he qualified his statement with a key word no one in here has even mentioned (other than myself) - perception. The perception is that Wolf is brother to Randy Wolf, another player on a team in heat of battle. To have an arbiter be blood related only puts forth a perception that there could be a problem. It is a tough thing for Wolf the Umpire to go through and MLB should be aware of this and try and keep him in AL games only (although this is no longer an option because umps now arbitrate for both leagues, not one or the other).
