Quotes for Yearbook

Featured Replies

So for Douglas seniors this year, we get quotes under our picture in the yearbook with a 100 character limit (including author's name). I'm not able to decide on one.

Any suggestions?

I have two favorites:

"Whether you think you can or think you can't - you are right." - Henry Ford

"I always remember an epitaph which is in the cemetery at Tombstone, Arizona. It says: 'Here lies Jack Williams. He done his damnedest.' I think that is the greatest epitaph a man can have - When he gives everything that is in him to do the job he has before him. That is all you can ask of him and that is what I have tried to do." - Harry S Truman

and of course there's always "Nobody does it like Dodgii"

It is impossible to make anything foolproof because fools are so ingenious. -Murphy's Second Corollary

"After I'm dead I'd rather have people ask why I have no monument than why I have one." -Cato the Elder

"Speech is the gift of all, but the thought of few." -Cato the Elder

"The instinct of nearly all societies is to lock up anybody who is truly free. First, society begins by trying to beat you up. If this fails, they try to poison you. If this fails too, the finish by loading honors on your head." - Jean Cocteau

Thats funny comming from the biggest moron on this board.

Passion. It lies in all of us. Sleeping, waiting and though unwanted, unbidden, it will stir, open it's jaws and howl. It speaks to us, guides us, passion rules us all. And we obey. What other choice do we have? Passion is the source of our finest moments. The joy of love, the clarity of hatred, and the ecstasy of grief. It hurts sometimes more than we can bear. If we could live without passion, maybe we'd know some kind of peace, but we would be hollow, empty rooms, shuttered and dank. Without passion, we'd be truly dead.

Too bad thats more than 100 characters, that is my favorite quote.

"My, what big feet you have." - Woman who ran off with Bigfoot

"I fart in your general direction." - from "Monty Python and The Holy Grail"

"BAN!" - Das

I had this one as my senior quote in high school:

"Having a true faith is the most difficult thing in the world. Many will try to take it from you."

- Steve Prefontaine

And this on my senior page:

"To give anything less than your best is to sacrifice the gift."

-Steve Prefontaine

You're an ignorant slut. -Boog Sciambi

Barry Bonds is comparable to Hitler. -Spike

I got my name off a hair dryer. -Homer Simpson

I wasn't saying if you were serious or not about using that, I was saying it's best not to bring that up...really does offend people.
