Seeing that movie in theatres was the most awkward experience ever...just hear sobbing everywhere. Personally I thought it was a pretty happy movie(for most part) Have had many arguments with the girl over this.

I wouldn't say it was one of my favorite movies but I did cry watching it.

Let Lefty preface by saying that Lefty is a very tough, manly man. He isn't easily tamed by feminine movies (or "chick flicks" as they are frequently titled).

 

However, The Notebook left a stinging feeling in Lefty's eyes--similar to the feeling he had when his first goldfish died.

I just finished watching Love Actually! I've seen it so many times but I love it.

I watched it for the first time with my ex girlfriend. She told me it was a sad movie and me being a guy, I told her movies didn't make me cry...

 

I lied about that though, as movies and some TV shows often make me cry, and the notebook made me bawl.

"When Harry Met Sally" was also an entertaining chick flick I must say

the closest ive come to crying during a movie that i can remember was during Rosewood. a bunch of people were crying during the angry mob scene, i was moved and got a little emotional but no crying though.

it was a good movie...actually saw it a couple of times, and I really don't go for those types of movies.

bunch of women at my office were talking about this for weeks before I finally agreed to rent it. My wife loved it, & I have to admit it was quite good. Definitely a tear jerker. :boo-woo

Never saw the entire thing, so I guess I can't say whether or not I would have cried.

 

Only movie I can remember getting choked up was The Passion of The Christ.

I watched "Love Actually" a few days ago, it was very cool! "Let's get the sh*t kicked out of us by love" is the best line ever.

i still havent watched that movie, in fact i refuse to watch that movie. just dont feel like spending 2-3 hours sitting there watching a man get mutilated, tortured and eventually killed. we've had the bootleg version for a long time and i still havent watched it.

 

 

my sister's obsessed with The Notebook. everytime she watches it she comes out of her room with her eyes red from crying. i just roll my eyes but after this thread im guessing its more than just some crappy chick flick.

 

im home alone right now and im looking at the DVD case as i speak, maybe after the dolphins game... :shifty

Oh ok, I got that impression because you mentioned not celebrating anything on some holiday threads. That's cool, I can definitely understand where your grandma is coming from.

 

I don't care to see it either, but it was good for me. Not saying that it doesn't make sense for you to not want to see it, but just think about it.

I saw the Passion of the Chrst in theaters because my girlfriend wanted to. It didn't do anything for me in a religious sense, but I can tell why some people were moved by it.

 

I do hate Mel Gibson. He's a schmuck.

I fell asleep during The Notebook. Those darn argument/loud speaking scenes kept waking me up. Oh well.

Only movies I've ever cried at were Schindler's List, Jakob the Liar, and Edward Scissorhands (shut up).
