August 31, 200323 yr I think there are more OFs available than 3B, so we'll probably move Cabrera to the infield. Our organization doesn't have a ready 3B, other than Cabrera. Chris Donnels is not the answer. Our depth, such as it is, is in the OF with Hollandsworth, Banks, Gerald Williams, Chad Allen, and Abe Nunez. I think for today, we go with Banks in LF. And I think we should have Williams and Nunez on a plane to Fort Lauderdale. My preference is probably Conine, but can he still play LF? Does he still move well enough? Hollandsworth has been terrible as a starter all year. Banks has done a few nice things, but overall his numbers are pretty bad. Nunez would be interesting but that would mean we're depending on 3 rookies (Nunez, Cabrera, and Willis). 3 rookies does not give me warm fuzzies during a Wild Card chase. No matter what we do, we're not going to replace Lowell's production with his replacement. We have to hope whoever gets plugged in there just holds his own and the other guys (particularly Pudge, Lee, and Encarnacion) make up the difference. Well conine has had 12-8 and now 5 stolen bases the last 3 years. He still moves rather decently. Could be able to play LF. Its not the hardest of all positions... He would be way better than Millar at the Pro defensively. Also, in over 100 games in LF since 1997, Conine hasn't made ONE error in LF. He's played there 6 games this year included and some games at third as well. He's been pretty steady throughout his career with defense. heres a link on his fielding stats since 1997 http://bigleaguers.yahoo.com/mlbpa/players/4600/career
August 31, 200323 yr wow. Pudge can play 3rd or LF and so can Remond because its real easy, the travel leagues are very similar to bigs, i neve knew this. can somebody please tell me how to get rid of these :elefant :elefant :elefant
August 31, 200323 yr MLB players should be able to catch a fly ball no matter where they play, right? Cabs at third, Banker in Lf is my guess for today.

August 31, 200323 yr Author Some of the dumbest posts of this boards history are contained in this thread. :plain Willingham would be an interesting choice...Either way we go we have to trade for someone today or bring up a replacement because today is the deadline for non-injured players to be on the 25-man roster correct?
August 31, 200323 yr ok kid there is no transition from your little league, same s***, diffrerent name, yto mlb every1 can play every position I don't play little league. I'm not 10-years-old. Go to a travel baseball game, or a HS game. In travel and HS ball, everyone has played their position and learned their position their entire baseball lives. It's hard to transition to a new position after playing a certain position your whole life, whether it be high school or the pros. Like I've said, I think you're under estimating the playing level of travel baseball. Kids are at times clocked at 90. Our fastest pitcher gets up to 85. 14-year-olds hit tape measure shots, up to 410 (that I've seen personally).

You make it sound like the FSL lol. stop BSing us and lay off the personal s*** ok? As far as I know, anything thats not amatuer ball or semi pro, or pro, or FSHAA high school ball, college ball, etc is a LITTLE LEAGUE. ANYbody that is under 15 and plays in the local traveling team is LITTLE LEAGUE ball player. Stop trying to sound like you're some type of grizzled veteran.

August 31, 200323 yr Can you throw 85 MPH? Can you hit an 85 MPH pitch? Can you catch an 85 MPH pitch? Can you hit a 330 FT. HR? Probably not. Try doing it at 14-years-old. Punks.
August 31, 200323 yr who do you think you are? honestly? you havent proved s*** at high school, youre a lil rookie punk freshmen who most likely plays in a garbage school, cone down here to the poor urban schoools and see how you fare secondly, youre the most garbage one sided journalist ive ever seen, the only reason you won is because there was really no one else here, the few articles that chris and adam made are better than yours. thirdly, how the f*** do you know if we have played or not? i know ramp has told me he played ball throughout high school, i cant speak for C/R though ive played three years in thee premierer baseball team, which would ANAILATE your lil boca raton bulls***, 3 time regional champs, back to back state champs and i was always one of the best hitters untill around the age of 14 and still wouldve been if i wouldnt have lost 40% of my vision to cancer i hope you dont wonder why they banned you the first time dont act like a hot shot
August 31, 200323 yr you havent proved s*** at high school, youre a lil rookie punk freshmen who most likely plays in a garbage school Yea, Boca High has a horrible baseball program. It's worse than our football program, ranked I believe 3rd in the state. We have one of the best athletic programs in the state. the only reason you won is because there was really no one else here, the few articles that chris and adam made are better than yours. I would hope Chris and Adam are better writers, because they're both in their twenties. I'm fourteen. thirdly, how the f*** do you know if we have played or not? I have no idea if you have played or not. I'm just trying to say that it's not as if I play actual little league, and I'm hitting on a 200 Ft. field against 60 MPH pitching. Most people in general can't hit or field an 85 MPH pitch, or send a baseball 320+ Ft., none the less a 14-year-old kid.
August 31, 200323 yr yeah boca is great then why havent i SEEN them in the playoffs? again, your speaking to someone who actually studies all fields of florida sports, not assumes trhey know bro STOP sweating yoiurself, who do you think you are? bonds? "none the less a 14 year old kid" but im a 14 year old kid" im the next coming of jesus and im a 14 year old kid" i know soooo many fantastic players that are 14/15 at my school its not even funny,(ask sportscenter or masterchief) and trhey dont think they are god ive seen/been/ studied fhsaa playoff ball, primarily 6A, which is the hardest(next to private schools) and the only stud broward team there every year is boynton beach and coopercity( a school i used to play for, but remember, i cant catch an 85 mph fastball or hit it 310 ft!)
August 31, 200323 yr http://www.fhsaa.org/programs/sports/ba/index.asp there you go yup, top 3 all right
August 31, 200323 yr http://www.fhsaa.org/programs/sports/ba/index.asp there you go yup, top 3 all right I said the football program was ranked third in the state. Reread my statement.

August 31, 200323 yr this thread is good fun.... keep it up WC, i havent laughed like this in a while.... so you can hit 85mph pitches, catch them, and throw them..... and at age 14 are you the next Babe Ruth?
August 31, 200323 yr all i can say is put up or shut up put us in your out of conference scheduele "one of the best athletic programs in the state" vs" the number 11 ranked team in the NATION 4 months ago by BA"

August 31, 200323 yr Boca High has a sophmore class this year that will knock your socks off. I guarentee you, when they are juniors next year and seniors in two, Boca High has a top 5 baseball program in Florida. Nick DiMauro Alan Ataman Billy Hasan Cody Clinton CJ Maula Christian Maula Those guys will dominate next year, the year after, possibly even this year.
August 31, 200323 yr The marlins are trying to trade for lowell's replacement right now....check this out MIAMI -- The Florida Marlins are trying to make a trade to replace All-Star third baseman Mike Lowell, who will miss the rest of the regular season after breaking his left hand. The Marlins contacted several clubs about getting an outfielder or third baseman -- someone who could help them stay atop the National League wild-card race. But they don't have much time. The deadline for adding players to the roster and having them eligible for the postseason is midnight Monday. Any player added after then would not be eligible for the playoffs. "They're making a serious effort," Marlins manager Jack McKeon said Sunday before his team's game against Montreal. Rookie Miguel Cabrera started his fifth game at third base, and Brian Banks made his 17th start in left field. Although that combination might work for a game or two, the club doesn't believe it will keep them in the playoff hunt; Banks entered the game hitting .235 with four homers and 22 RBIs. Lenny Harris and Todd Hollandsworth also are options in left. But Harris entered Sunday hitting .194 with a home run and seven RBIs, and Hollandsworth was hitting .250 with three homers and 18 RBIs before going on the disabled list with a back injury. Hollandsworth could be activated Monday, when rosters are expanded. "We're going to need someone to chip in," McKeon said. "This may help us come together and dig a little deeper and say let's pick up the slack for Mike." Lowell, the team's cleanup hitter and clubhouse leader, broke a bone in his hand when he was hit by a fastball from Montreal reliever Hector Almonte in the eighth inning Saturday night. Team doctors said Lowell will miss about four weeks -- meaning he will be out for the rest of the regular season. Lowell leads the Marlins with 32 home runs and 105 RBIs and was batting .277. He has become one of the league's top defensive third basemen and one of the main reasons Florida was tied with Philadelphia for the wild-card spot. Link
