why is ramon any better as a starter on the major league level than nunez?

question

Why is Ramon in his 3rd ML season and not Nunez?

question.

his career BA as a MLB player is what?

In how many AB's? How many of those AB's were from starts?

We could go round and round, but we both know Castro is better than Nunez, and Castro will be a good starter.

we do?

he will?

based on what critera?

On his minor league starting statistics, and his major league performances as a starter.

tell me why ramon castro will be a better major league player than abe nunez and is a better option TODAY to be a full time starter.

Ramon has been in the majors for 3 years as a back-up/starter. Abe Nunez barely has what, 2 months of ML experience on the bench. Castro's numbers in AAA as a starter were better than Nunez's ever were/are. Even though I thnk Castro's ML career average is misleading, it's STILL more than . 100 points better than Abe's career average. Is that enough?

question. correction, Castro is in his 5th ML season. Wasn't his last full minor league season in 2000?

I thought he was just a September call-up with the Astros in '99 and with us in '00, then from '01 and on became a 25-man-roster player,

big deal....

nunez has less than 20 major league at bats.

castro has done nothing really as a starter.

basically you are telling me castro is akin to a robert stratton that catches.

What the hell are you talking about? Stratton hits . 230 something with a million K's and lots of HR's in AAA. When Ramon was in AAA, he hit . 327 with a lot of HR's and didn't K all that much.

And there's a reason Nunez has less than 20 ML at-bats.

Let's put it this way, if the team didn't think Castro is as good as me and many others think, he'd have been released or traded.

if castro is so good...why has he played in so few games each year he has been in the majors?

and you have to look at costs....

is having ramon start worth moving pudge to another position for a month, especially in light of his recent problems with the law?

does he 'deserve' to start?

no.

he may be good, he may not be

september in the middle of a playoff race is not the time to find out.

especially when your starting catcher is ivan rodriguez. the pitchers have developed a rapport with him.....does this exist with ramon?

question.

you make it sound like a player can just move to another position and things will work out perfectly.

are you clueless josh?

no, because since travel ball is at the same level as the mlb, and him and his rugrat team mates can play every position, he asumes pudge can as well

When he first got here, the job went to the expensive CJ, who they would definately not bench for a league minimum back-up. Then, behind him, was a career . 300 hitter in Mike Redmond. He's been trapped behind expensive vets his entire career.

I never assumed he could.

You guys need to learn how to process things when reading. I said that if Pudge is able to, he should play 3B. I never assumed he could.
