February 11, 200620 yr Yeah another one of 'these' threads. But I figure there are a good amount of college baseball fans on the forum and rather than making lots of new topics lets get some quality college baseball discussion going. Anyways I'm obivously gonna talk some Elon here. Opened the season yesterday at #13 South Carolina. Lost in 11 innings 5-4. Bullpen blew a late lead and then an error in the 11 screwed everything up. Today beat them 2-1. Good to beat a top team early in the season. Would be huge if we could take the series. Got a real experienced team this year. The weak point is probably going to be the pitching. Top 2 spots are pretty secure but a lot of guys fighting for the 3rd spot. Final game is tomorrow. Last weekend was pretty surprising with #1 Texas losing 3 times to unranked San Diego.(Is that Tony Gwynn's team?) Now #1 Florida started off pretty nicely yesterday. A 10-0 win over Cincy. How's your team looking this year? sh*t I'm an idiopt can someone move this to The other sports Forum

February 11, 200620 yr FSU has started off strong with a 4 and 1 record, they'll be very good this year with College Baseball Player of the Year, Shane Robinson (a junior btw), coming back, Henry being a good ace to rely on at the top of the rotation and Chambliss can close games out (I still we had Lynch though, he was such an invaluable middle reliever). I like the lineup a lot with Ryne Malone, Shane, Jack Rye, and even Danny Diaz who I think will come into his own this year.
February 12, 200620 yr Temple baseball doesnt start until the 23rd and they have to replace an all time great coach in Skip Wilson....that's about as much as i know about them.
February 12, 200620 yr Baseball America picked Ohio State to win the Big Ten. I can name 0 players from the team.
February 13, 200620 yr UNM takes the series from Texas State 2-1 and improve to 3-1 overall. This team is so studly it is not even funny. So much firepower. Gonna try to head out to the park for the home opener on Tuesday to get some autographs. Lot of future MLB players.
February 14, 200620 yr Anyone know of a recruiting site that keeps track of college baseball prospects?
February 18, 200620 yr The gators have taken the first two of three from Miami. Two games that have gone down to the wire.
February 19, 200620 yr Author Elon has a double header with Fordham today...should win both CofC lost the first two to ECU not playing well in either game...surprising to me...ECU is a pretty good team though. I thought I read somewhere that this was going to be a down year for them though
February 19, 200620 yr does Sun always show college baseball or is it only because it's UF and Miami?
February 19, 200620 yr its because of UF, they show gator and seminole games. miami gets shown on FSN, at least in the past its been like that.
February 19, 200620 yr does Sun always show college baseball or is it only because it's UF and Miami? They have a package of College Baseball games from the numerous state schools. In previous years, Miami and FSN Florida had a deal, but Comcast's CSS got that in the past. This year, Miami has not said anything about a TV schedule other than these games on Sun Sports vs. the Gators. Gator Schedule Seminole Schedule Canes Schedule UCF Schedule USF Schedule FIU Schedule FAU Schedule Enjoy! CSS (Comcast and Charter Cable) have some UM games on, btu UM has not officially acknowledged them. http://www.csssports.com/
February 20, 200620 yr I'm shooting pictures from the Duke-Radford game on Friday evening for the Chronicle. I know we are terrible and I have no idea where Radford even is, much less if they're any good, but I figured I'd put it in here since this is the college baseball thread.
February 20, 200620 yr nice sweep by FIU this weekend over a pitiful FAMU, but hopefully it give the Golden Panthers some confidence heading on the road to face Alabama this coming weekend. UM got swept nasty style for the first time since 2002 at home by the hated Gators
February 25, 200620 yr Author Elon moves to 6-3 as they crush Auburn 10-2 Beat Duke on Wed for the season sweep of them. Hopefully can take another game at Auburn this weekend. Team is looking good so far this year.
February 25, 200620 yr dang miami is going to have a long year I think as they need to grow alot this year.
February 25, 200620 yr UF beats OSU today. Good to see them bounce back after that loss to Mizzou yesterday.
April 3, 200620 yr Author Well been a quality season so far. South Carolina, FSU, Clemson, and Miss State have all looked pretty strong. I think now is when we really start getting into conference games. As for Elon they just lost 2 of 3 to CofC, but its alright. Was an away series and CofC is a top 30 team. Elon's RPI is 28th right now :mischief . Sitting at 22-10. May be on course for the schools 2nd 40 win season. It would be nice if they could keep up at maybe get an at large bid into the tourney or conference tournament. 7-8 vs top 52 in the RPI. Not too bad. UNC is coming to Elon tomorrow I believe. Big game there
April 3, 200620 yr Ohio State took 3 of 4 from Iowa this weekend to open Big Ten play, including a 15-1 drubbing yesterday. Freshman lefty J.B. Shuck took a no-hitter into the 8th. We're 15-6, 3-1. Started the year 2-4, won 13 of 15. 1-0 at home. 14-6 on the road.
