February 23, 200620 yr profootballtalk.com JETS LOOKING TO SWAP WITH SAINTS? There?s talk in league circles that the New York Jets are sufficiently smitten with Vanderbilt quarterback Jay Cutler to prompt serious consideration by the front office of a trade up in the April draft from the No. 4 overall spot to No. 2, which pick currently is held by the Saints. The Jets? objective would be to leapfrog the Titans, who sit and No. 3 ? and who likewise are thought to be thinking seriously about drafting Cutler. The only hitch is that the Saints are believed to be primarily interested in USC quarterback Matt Leinart, who very well could be plucked by the Titans at No. 3 if Cutler is off the board.
February 23, 200620 yr There's no way the Titans would draft Cutler over Young. Or at least I highly doubt it. Meanwhile, trading up to No. 2 to get Cutler is moronic. The Cutler thing is getting out of hand.
February 23, 200620 yr His name isn't Cutler anymore, it's OMGCutler! Show some respects, n00bs. :lol And yes, taking OMGCuter over any one of the trio of Reggie Bush, Vince Young or Matt Leinart would be dumb. But, it also depends on what the team who is drafting's needs. It doesn't make much sense to trade up for a higher pick when you're feasibly going to get a starter anyways. Unless it's not Cutler they really want.
February 23, 200620 yr If the Titans do take Cutler at #3, that would leave Young, Bush or Lienart on the board and I would be happy with either of them.

The Cutler thing is getting out of hand. OMGCutler played his college ball in Nashville and is a local star though. He makes total sense for the Titans, who saw their stadium begin to be more and more empty as last season went on.

Profootballtalk is alright for rumors sometimes but most often they are totally wrong. I think it is BS totally and just a crap rumor. The jets just cut half of their offensive line recently so I expect them to be smart and take D'brickshaw unless leinart or bush falls. Still it is the jets so who knows?might as well post it up and let everyone read and decide for themselves.

That is funny since you read it on the boards there after you posted it here, yet you commented on it 2 hours earlier on that board. I am not trying to make a big deal of it, but I have noticed you several times just copying and pasting other posters posts from that board to here and writing it off as your own. You should give the other guys credit for their posts every once and a while.
February 23, 200620 yr I think regardless of who they take it needs to be a QB. Pennington sometimes looks completley lost out on the field. Def need an insurance plan for the longterm b/c Penn aint it. Regardless I do not see the Jets being very competetive this year. The Fan why don't you cut Fishfan79 some slack, you seem to jump on him after every post he makes.
February 23, 200620 yr Author I read it on the boards there after I read it upon Profootballtalk.com dude. I am not claiming this to be from me I stated it was from profootballtalk.com which is what is the source of this. but anyways not on here to argue

Well I would expect that if someone is going to copy and paste someone else's exact post on another board on several occasions to this one, or any other for that matter to not pass it off as their own as he has done numerous times on the draft subject. If someone on that board was doing it to him, I would say the same thing to them and let them know they should not pass off his posts as theirs either. In elementary school, we learn this little feature to be called plagiarism.

In elementary school, we learn this little feature to be called plagiarism. once more I have never claimed an article to be written or decided from myself. I never claimed to be the begginning and ending of knowledge in football. I have never claimed anything except to toss up an article here or there to let others read it and decide as they will. I have found articles on forums, I have found articles on news websites or yahoo news or google news. Last I checked the article is from the original source not from another forum. If I took Jason Cole's work on the herald and claimed it was mine that is plagiarism as you wish to call it. Dude, as Digital said can you calm down on everytime I post anything having a negative word? This isnt a contest or a game. Nobody normally comes to mb.com to whine complain and fight with one another.

While I agree links for the source should be posted with the article it probably doesnt pay to harp on it too much. I dont think he was trying to come off as some uber insider with his own information, rather then just someone trying to contribute to the thread. --- Back to the subject. Are you sold on Chad as teh Jets QB or do you think its time to look somewhere else? Do you have any other information about Chad restructuring his contract or being rlsed? I think the Jets do what they can to get the best QB in the draft. I also think they will need to address RB it not this year then next year. Martin isnt getting any younger. I am also not caught up on the jets cap situation so is it possible they go for a free agent QB instead and draft a RB or vice versa?
February 23, 200620 yr Putting profootballtalk.com on top of it means he cited to something. So it's pretty clear he isnt taking it as his own.
February 23, 200620 yr THe Fan I think you should change your name to The Ban Because if you keep up this criticizing and blatant negativity, you will be...
February 23, 200620 yr Stop antagonizing people already The Fan. It's getting very tiresome, this has been an issue with you since you registered. Either contribute or don't, don't try and stir crap up every damn time you post.
February 23, 200620 yr Author here is the full article again and link once more JETS LOOKING TO SWAP WITH SAINTS? Stay tuned. http://www.profootballtalk.com/rumormill.htm they have an interesting article on daunte and wolf if he was lied to or not. They normally update 2-3 pieces a day on there and give pretty good rumors. anyways mind if we we all get back to the subject all? would the jets be better off staying where they are and taking d'brickshaw and then in the second drafting Omar jacobs? I believe they have a Jones kid that is a good Left tackle (adrian jones I wish to say his name is?). But D'brickshaw would be an upgrade. At their draft position though they could go QB and then LT in the top of the 2nd and get a decent one (winston/mcneil/colledge etc..) I just dont see the point of the trade upwards still.
February 23, 200620 yr damn what is up with the fan...all you hear is negative crap from him..i luv how he says that work that isn't sourced is plagerized...well yea but ff79 placed the source of the article at the top enough said. as for this move...whatever move the jets make will backfire on them cause once again you are talkin about the stinking jets.....so w/e
February 24, 200620 yr The Jets are retarted if they trade up for Cutler, who isn't THAT much better a prospect than Young or Leinart, if he is at all (personally I think he's worse than both but still a good prospect in th right system). That being said, hopefully they mortgage their future for the chance to draft Cutler.
February 24, 200620 yr Author are the jets still running a west coast offense next year? If so I think matt leinart would be a deadly fit for them. (I hope they dont get him). A very accurate passer that makes smart decisions.
