Ah, so Tyler was the one who imploded.

Uggla is already one of my favorite players and I haven't even seen him in action yet. :mischief2

i coulda sworn Ungs was the one who allowed 4 runs.

also, A 108 ERA?!.... hahahahahahaha

Going back over the play by play in the game thread, it looks like Tyler loaded the bases, Ungs was called in and the Canes drove them in.

Beast.

Hermida was on the radio this morning, & when asked "give us a couple of scouting reports, some new players to keep an eye out for." he replied with Hanley & Dan Uggla. Said Uggla can really swing the bat.

What does Hermida know? :whistle

Weiner and Lou have already decided he's an over the hill minor league prospect who "...has no concept of the strikezone and he is going to be brutally punished for that failing...".

I don't know why you'd think Hermida knows anything about hitting when these two have already made it abundantly clear they know more about Uggla than his teammates.

Now Marlins2003...you've got to go easy on Sweet Lou. When you cut out all the extraneous BS around here...it's guys like Lou and RFerry debating with the likes of you and TSwift that makes this board so great (along with the occasional quality post from Ramp). The "old-school" vs. "seam head" debate is one of my favorites. Let's hope whoever is wrong ultimately stands up and takes it like a man. I also hope that certain individuals will happily enjoy some crow if the player they predicted to falter ends up being an all-star. I mean in the end, we all love the Fish - right?

yeah & even Lou said he's rooting for the guy. In all fairness it is a long shot for him to succeed here. But I think he'll be given every opportunity. I just hope he can play enough defense to last out there & get his at-bats.

hehehehe :mischief

I feel so loved.

Regardless, if Uggla somehow posts a .750 OPS in considerable AB and is league average in D, I will have no problem "eating" crow. I'm much more interested in the Marlins developing a 2B for the future besides keeping my pride. I hope Uggla is a statistical outlier. I really do. I just can't see it though. Let's just ignore this one and come back post April? I don't want to get into daily arguments "oh he was 2/3 today with a jack..... but one of the hits was a bloop, he botched a DP, and he made an error." This one has run its course for the moment. We'll see in May.

I will be thrilled to death if Uggla can hang in the bigs.
