March 21, 200620 yr Ohio State has numerous National Titles. Don't act like that's the only game they've ever won on that big of a stage. Every season we're in hunt for a National Title. Sometimes it goes our way and we come closer than others. As for the pros, that's irrelevant to issue. Has nothing to do with that game or our fans being "bitter." On Saturdays, during college football season, Ohio State is the only pro game in town and the only thing on the mind of any true Buckeyes fan. Miami will get their chance for "revenge" again in a couple of year when we play them anyways (something like 2010). my bad Buck i havent been around College Football very long... dont have a favorite team either, but i like the sport. Good Luck to the Buckeyes next season
March 21, 200620 yr This is such a dumb issue already. As a Miami fan, I haven't thought about it in forever but I feel like it is always brought up. It's been years already. Another dumb issue is Miami fans and tOSU fans insulting each others programs about their "morals" or program "cleanliness". Yay it's so cool to say Da U! and insult UM for taking on people like Willie Williams with multiple arrests when tOSU recently allowed their convicted drug trafficker kicker to return to the team (not trying to just pick on tOSU, you could really insert any major d1 program there but it is easier to use them since this was a "tOSU-UM thread"). No major D1 program that has sustained success such as these two will have anything close to a prestine off-field history, especially considering the enviroments where a lot of the talented players grew up. That stuff is old as well. I wish fellow Canes fans would just move on from this. Oh well I guess.

He deserves at least a second chance. Besides his name is Skeete. OH SKEETE, SKEETE, SKEETE, SKEETE, SKEETE, SKEETE!
March 21, 200620 yr maybe the impression i'm getting is skewed by the fact that we only have two OSU fans on this board, but it almost sounds like OSU fans are more hung up on that call than UM fans are. How so? because thats the only thing Ohio football has done Pro and College Ohio State has numerous National Titles. Don't act like that's the only game they've ever won on that big of a stage. Every season we're in hunt for a National Title. Sometimes it goes our way and we come closer than others. As for the pros, that's irrelevant to issue. (zero) I'm not trying to knock your team or call it irrelevant, but the Buckeyes certainly haven't been in the same league as some of the college football powerhouses of the modern era. Again, I'm not trying to offend you or anything, but all things considered, it's not hard to see why any OSU fan would still be hung up on the 2002 'Luckeyes,' particularly in light of the program's relative fall from historical prominence.
March 22, 200620 yr Dammit, Miami fans for the most part still feel slighted by the call. But it was four years ago, it shouldn't be a topic of discussion anymore.

Relative Fall? You make it seem that there is some gap in success from '70 until now. In that time span until now: Ohio State has 15 Conference Titles. 32 Bowl Appearances How has OSU fallen? Recent: Ohio State BCS Bowls Wins: 4 (1st All Time) Appearances: 4 Miami BCS Wins: 3 Appearances: 4 Since that title game: Ohio State: Wins: 29 Losses: 8 Miami: Wins: 29 Losses: 8 So no I don't understand this fall from 'historical prominence' that you speak of. As for people being 'hung up' on a national championship team, every fan wil always be 'hung up' on their most recent championship, I have no idea what point you were trying to make with that.
March 22, 200620 yr I feel strongly about that call but whatever. Its irrelevent at this point as UM has a lot more to worry about then whether the game was dirty or what not. And I do not think the fans who created that website probably ever went near the U. Real fans of the U (Namely people who actually went there) are actually really good about the team. For the most part.

You make it seem that there is some gap in success from '70 until now. In that time span until now: Ohio State has 15 Conference Titles. 32 Bowl Appearances How has OSU fallen? Surely you'd agree that OSU has fallen, relatively speaking, from the prominence it enjoyed under Woody Hayes. They won titles in 1942 and 1944. Under Hayes they then won split championships in 1954, 1957, and 1961, and they won another title in 1968. (link) Historically, OSU was a powerhouse. Since Hayes' last title, however, the only team that's managed to win a title was the 2002 one. That's quite a dropoff. All things considered, I don't think anyone could argue that OSU has enjoyed nearly the success that teams like Nebraska, Miami, Oklahoma, Alabama, Notre Dame, and USC have had with regards to winning championships in the modern era.
March 22, 200620 yr This thread sucks. And the fact it has this many replies is sad. For both fanbases.

I find problem with the fact that you didn't mention at LEAST Michigan. In the last 25 years they've been better than Notre Dame and other schools listed. Oh, well, it's pointless. You're of the opinion tOSU sucks, I'm of the opinion that while Miami is good, I don't care at all about that National Championship. We won, period. I have no hangups with that game. Good teams overcome penalties, which we did. Losing teams, don't. If you choose to be ignorant about the two best schools in the Big Ten, that's fine.
