September 12, 200322 yr A Derrick Lee fan for years... nobody smoother than D. Lee, nobody with more potential. Almost got used to waiting for his second-half rally. I grew up with Gil Hodges and Johnny Mize, (1st basemen, Brooklyn Dodgers, N.Y. Giants) players who got the most out of their potential. Now, I wish D. Lee the best. I hope he blossoms with his next team. He is also a class act with an excellent family baseball heritage. I'll keep rooting for him no matter what team he is with. (Just as I continue to root for Kevin Millar, Craig Counsel, etc.) I expect him to do very well in the Marlins Play-Offs. Then gone.
September 12, 200322 yr Lee will be one of the most complete players in the game, and will be considered a top 10 major leaguer after next year. You'll love him next year, when he's a Brave. Have you seen Lee's numbers in Turner Field? They're awful. A lifetime .213 average with 4 HRs in 136 ABs. His Turner Field OPS is .642. A big part of those numbers is that he's going up against Braves pitching but against Braves pitching away from Turner Field, he's hitting .243 (33-136) with 7 HRs (I don't feel like figuring his OPS). So he actually does a little better against the Braves in JRS than he does in Turner Field. Putting him in the Braves lineup will help but there are better parks for Lee to play in than Turner Field.

September 12, 200322 yr Wildcard, he needs to prove that he can be a complete player when he hits succesfull the whole year not the last month....
September 12, 200322 yr Glad to see D. Lee playing well. He's still a waste of skin, though. Can' wait to see him sign a nice deal somewhere else for next year and then suck, just like Floyd. D. Lee is Cliff Floyd Junior.

September 12, 200322 yr D. Lee is Cliff Floyd Junior. why....cliff was always good with us putting more than 20 homers and 80 RBI's each year ( or close to it 80).
September 12, 200322 yr Wildcard, he needs to prove that he can be a complete player when he hits succesfull the whole year not the last month.... Away from Pro Player stadium he's been hitting well over . 280, 19 HR's on the road. Away from Pro Player, he's gonna hit around . 290, . 400 OBP, 1.000+ OPS, with 40+ HR's, 100+ RBI, and 20 SB (these numbers are give or take, pending on the stadium he plays in). Statistics back-up my predictions.
September 12, 200322 yr i bet he wont run nearly as much with another team.... and his avg will jump .30 points? doubt it 40hr and 100rbi? ill wait and see on the 40hr.... and his ops 1.000? that may be pushing it too

But check his career road stats and get back to me.
September 12, 200322 yr no thanks... he plays better on the road.....so what? Saying that he simply plays "better" is an understatement. His stats show he's Jim Thome like on the road, and J.T. Snow like at home.

Snow like at home. but even if he plays in Baltimore or wherever next year... he is not playing on the "road" road is not a new stadium and to say he will be top 10 players in baseball next year is just plain STUPID
September 12, 200322 yr and to say he will be top 10 players in baseball next year is just plain STUPID These are what his numbers would look like in a full-season away from Pro Player, or at least what the stats say they should. Remember, because the season is not yet over, these stats may be a little lower than what they would be. Derrek Lee 510 AB's 150 Hits 38 doubles 38 HR's 88 RBI 68 BB's 126 K's 22 SB's . 294 avg. . 382 obp. . 592 slug. . 974 ops. *Good stats in bold.

Until he shows he can be a solid producer for the entire year, not a lot of people will be happy with him.
September 12, 200322 yr Until he shows he can be a solid producer for the entire year, not a lot of people will be happy with him. The team that gets him will be fine with him, because he'll be a star there. You all laugh, but you'll see.
September 12, 200322 yr Yeah, I seriously think if he plays for a different team next season he will be 270 45 hrs 120 RBI
September 12, 200322 yr His stats show he's Jim Thome like on the road LMFAO Curiously, what'd you find so humorous about that statement? Lee's stats on the road are actually better than Jim Thome's overall numbers.
September 12, 200322 yr if lee were say in camden yards.. then i think he would hit: .289 avg 35-38 Homers 107 RBI's. I also think he would strike out more, being in a hitters park goin for the fences...
