Martinez Fined

Martinez fined

Major League Baseball fined Carlos Martinez $500 for what head of discipline Bob Watson termed "overly aggressive gestures" after a strikeout of Marlon Anderson in an April 16 game against the Nationals

odd, if anything Anderson should have been fined. And WTF is $500, thats nothing, even to a rookie

Intersting.

If fine's like that were handed out to everyone Julian Tavares would be going broke.

eh...maybe not.....$500 an appearance for Tavares and he still has plenty left over.

Not to hate on our guy or anything, but I did think at time Carlos's effusiveness was a tad much, especially for a rookie. But to fine him for it? That's baloney.

But the thing is, he had done it before and no fines. Marlon Anderson throws a hissy fit and he gets fined.

Right; the fine is baloney. Some players just have more pull than others, I guess.

He shouldn't have been fined. Nothing wrong with taunting.

I wonder if Manzy ever got fined for his ridiculous actions...or AA for that matter. This makes no sense. He must have said something to Byrd that we don't know about.

Ya I read this in the paper and I literally LOLed. WTF is a 500 dollar fine?

Did the commisioner's office need a new cappuccino machine or something?
