Posted May 25, 200619 yr well my man German is coming back tomorrow!!!! so who will get optioned out? Kensing?
May 25, 200619 yr i think it is going to be pinto too, he needs work on comand and kensing has been doing better
May 25, 200619 yr Kensing has pitched very well...Pinto needs some more work on his mechanics and needs a little bit more maturity
May 26, 200619 yr Pinto just isn't getting the work he needs, but don't worry Kensing will probably be the next one gone when Martinez makes it back.

May 27, 200619 yr Girardi said right-hander Franklyn German (right shoulder) would pitch at Class A Jupiter on Saturday and Sunday, and RHP Carlos Martinez (right elbow sprain) would also do so on Saturday. Beinfest said both pitchers were "close" to returning to the Marlins. So who goes....Pinto and Herges, Pettit or Wellemyer? The consensus here would be Herges but is Joe and Beinfest sticking with the veteran? Will it be Pettit who needs to pitch more innings than he is now? Or will it be Wellemyer who needs to be forced into throwing strikes and to trust his own stuff to do so?
May 27, 200619 yr Wellemeyer is out of options so I doubt it will be him, we need him for depth, otherwise we'll lose him forever. I doubt Herges would accept a demotion either. It may end up being Petit just because we'll want to keep Herges and Wellemeyer for depth.
May 27, 200619 yr I actually believe Herges may be cut altogether...or you will see someone go on the DL for some sort of mysterious ailment (hangnail probably)...Kensing has been by far our best reliever he was brilliant tonite I thought Girardi would have him pitch 2 innings tonite but he brought in Borowski

May 27, 200619 yr Petit needs to keep facing major league hitters, we need to start giving him appaearances so that he can eventually settle in as a starter if he performs well. I like Petit, and feel he will be part of whatever rotation is finally set out of these youngsters within the next few seasons
May 27, 200619 yr Martinez and German both pitched scorless innings for Jupiter today.  Thanks for the update.
