Morris (5-3) 5.49 (May ERA- 5.73)

Olsen (2-3) 6.64 (May ERA 10.07)

Matt Morris's Scouting Report:

Whether it was due to shoulder weakness or mechanical troubles, Morris was no longer the power pitcher who could blow away opponents with his hard stuff. A tell-tale sign that he often could not get his shoulder loose was that three times in the second half, he was knocked out within the first two innings. Except on rare occasions, his fastball rarely topped the 90-92 MPH level. As a result, Morris had to rely more on his breaking stuff and sinker, which last year helped him induce 26 double plays, the third most among National League pitchers. Morris has developed an outstanding changeup over the last three years, and he is usually around the plate-sometimes too much, as evidenced by his high home-run total.

MIAMI -- Even before Barry Bonds hit his 715th home run on Sunday, Marlins manager Joe Girardi said the team wouldn't be changing their approach to facing the slugger. "We'll pitch according to the plan, to the situation," Marlins manager Joe Girardi said. "You don't pitch around him just because he's on 714." Bonds, who is a career .292 hitter at Dolphin Stadium with nine home runs, passed Babe Ruth for second on the all-time home run list Sunday and is 40 home runs shy of career leader Hank Aaron's 755 blasts. Bonds is off to a slower than usual start for the veteran left fielder, but Girardi believes that he is still a very formidable hitter. "He's been a dangerous hitter for a long time," Girardi said. "He doesn't have a lot of holes. He's got a great eye, so you can't miss your spots." Attempting to foil Bonds on his home run quest will be rookie lefty Scott Olsen, who has struggled with his control all season and will be making his first career start against the Giants. The Giants will match him up against veteran right-hander Matt Morris, who has a 3-2 record at Dolphin Stadium.

Pitching matchup

SF: RHP Matt Morris (3-5, 5.49 ERA)

Since starting out 2-0, Morris has lost four of his last five games, including his last start against the Cardinals. He owns a career 7-3 record against the Marlins with a 4.21 ERA.

FLA: LHP Scott Olsen (2-3, 6.64 ERA)

Olsen is looking to get his first win at Dolphin Stadium, 0-2 in four starts at home. This is his first career start against the Giants.

Player to watch

Girardi gave Reggie Abercrombie the day off on Sunday following his three-hit performance on Saturday against the Mets. The young outfielder will look to pick up where he left off against San Francisco.

I'll be going :)

Let's see if Mikey's 2nd game of the year brings some help to Holly's magic. (My first game since Home Opener.. want to go to more tho in the future this year :) )

Have fun at the game, those who are going. I'll be checking the score while I'm working. Go Marlins!

ill echo what everyone said already...

hopefully olsen is sharp..

and guys get on base and capitalise on runners on base

I went road tripping with a friend and another friend last night, who happened to be a giants fan.

Well, the Giants fan got so drunk that he couldnt drive me and my other buddy home and we got stranded in a town 15 miles from our hometown. We had to pay $32 from a taxi to get home.

So, because my friend is a light weight and was kind of a jerk, and a giants fan, lets kick the crap out of them the next 3 days.

Around 7:30 or 8, he droppped us off in the town at around 11:30 after puking out in the country for 20 minutes.

It put me in a bad mood. Normally, I'd just go to a bar to get a ride home but it was Sunday so they were all closed.

Before hand we went to a wedding reception where I only knew like 3 people, the driver knew everyone and my one buddy new like 1 guy. He dropped us off there but the 4 combined people we knew had already went home.

Not to get all doom and gloom but as of right now I probably feel least confident about the Marlins chances when Olsen is on the mound more than any other starter.

I think Olsen is going to have a long career in the bigs and I like his stuff but he seems easily rattled, and appears to have very little confidence on the mound.

Hopefully he can put it all together tonite and keep the Fish in the game.

Any thoughts?
