May 30, 200620 yr seems lasting will get to show what he is made of within the Show. Odds of what he will do? Will he kill his trade value or increase it so they can get a zito?
May 30, 200620 yr I wonder if he is starting tonight. I'll probably be "watching" this game on gameday.
May 30, 200620 yr He started this year off extremely fast, but has slowed down a bit. I believe his average is in the .280s in AAA. Should be fun to watch, but keep in mind, he's still just 20 years old, if I'm not mistaken.
May 30, 200620 yr Author http://www.prosportsdaily.com/forums/showt...2724#post722724 there is where I saw it at btw, they have a link there to the original article (locks up my work comp)
May 30, 200620 yr This reminds we of when Hermida was called up. http://mb3.scout.com/fnyfansonlyfrm1.showM...cID=30566.topic Tons of OMG, YES!! AWESOME, CAN'T WAIT, IS HE STARTING TODAY!! :cheer . :plain.
May 30, 200620 yr personally I am hoping he is horrible so his trade value will plummet heheh I just hope he's terrible so my Met fan friend will finally shut up about him being "the second coming."
May 30, 200620 yr Lost in the excitement of Thrilledge being called up is that Nady had an emergency Apendectomy. This isn't just a cup of coffee, it's a good 3-4 week stint. As for playing tonight, WFAN says they're still unsure if he'll make it to the stadium on time (i suspect he will) or start (my guess is no with the way Endy Chavez has played lately). BTW, while he has gone cold for a while at AAA, Thrilledge's slump is a by-prduct of being surrounded by horribe players and not getting much to hit lately. Look at the .425 OBP. He's getting a lot of walks.
May 30, 200620 yr I still can't beleive a couple of extra dolars stopped Lastings from being apart of that Delgado trade :banghead
May 30, 200620 yr "According to SNY, Lastings Milledge -- one of the most highly touted hitting prospects in the Minors -- is headed to the bigs. With Xavier Nady ailing, the 21-year-old Milledge is expected to start in the outfield for the Mets tonight against the Arizona Diamondbacks."

I put that there because thats how I reacted when Hermida got called up. Geez Louise.
May 30, 200620 yr I think he is stuck on an airplane and he wont be starting today. (I read that on ESPN).
May 30, 200620 yr I can't hear his name without getting pissed that we didn't get him in the Delgado trade. All things being equal i'm happy with Jacob's progress and Petit certainly has the chance to be special. But Milledge looks to be a can't miss CF'er and I can't for the life of me understand why we didn't pull the trigger on acquiring him. No use crying about it now i guess.
May 30, 200620 yr I don't think he is starting today unless he gets to the stadium very quick. ESPN.com Milledge was penciled in the starting lineup, playing right field and batting eighth. Because of travel difficulties, he still hadn't gotten to Shea Stadium two hours before the scheduled first pitch. I read on a Mets forum that he went on the wrong plane . He was headed to Arizona.
