June 15, 200620 yr Only 8 games out back in the loss column. Good stuff. I agree with the validity of your first post as well. Only 10 (8 or so now) games out in the loss column is a HUGE accomplishment for this team of young ballplayers. Especially after that ridiculous stretch where they figured out a different way to lose a game every night. Good post and GO MARLINS!
June 15, 200620 yr Guys we still have the worse record in the NL! However since 5/21 We are 12-6...that is .667 ball. We have to be pretty proud of these baby marlins. These kidz are playing as well as anyone...Can this be an "omen"? no we dont. We just surpassed the Pirates recently...at the time i made the comment We were still last...Btw we are a single percentage point behind the Cubs right now
June 15, 200620 yr Author At 25-37 right now... If we finish the season 60-40, we'll have 85 wins. :mischief2
June 15, 200620 yr I look at it this way, we know we had the talent, it just a matter of weeding through the good and the bad, that's the point we're at now. As far as the experience goes, everyday the Marlins play, they gain experience. I can't remember which Marlin said, but "experience is overrated" is the absolute truth. Look at Baltimore, Cubs, Giants, etc all loaded w/ experience, all having bad years. Pitching and defense wins and the Marlins have the best ERA in June
June 15, 200620 yr as much as i'd like to see it - it ain't gonna happen - not even close. you guys need to learn to keep cool with a young team...there are going to be ups and downs - we happen to be in an "up" period but don't think for a second we're finished with the downs. young players slump, much like you're seeing with Hanley right now. i don't think we will ever be as bad as we were earlier this year....but i also don't think we're nearly good enough to climb back into the playoff picture. just being realistic.
June 15, 200620 yr And also from the "did you know" category... Through 62 games, this team has scored more runs than the 2005 Marlins, the team that was supposed to win the NL East. :thumbup

Thanks coach. I was actually losing my cool for a while now.

By 14 runs if my math is correct. On the other hand we've allowed about 46 more runs than at this point last year. But the pitching sure is coming around lately. :thumbup
