Hendrickson vs. Scotty Olsen.

Olsen tries to get Fish back on track. Los Angeles (55-55) at Florida (51-59), 1:05 p.m. ET

In a key series against another National League Wild Card contender, things have not gone according to the Marlins' plan.

The Marlins' offense has been flat in the first two games of their series against the Dodgers -- both losses. That dropped Florida to eight games below .500 and six behind Wild Card-leading Cincinnati.

Taking the mound in hopes of turning things around for the Marlins will be Scott Olsen, who has won seven of his last eight decisions. He'll face off against the Dodgers' Mark Hendrickson.

Following Sunday afternoon's game, the Marlins will have an off-day Monday before beginning a three-game series with the Nationals on Tuesday night in Washington.

Pitching matchup

LAD: LHP Mark Hendrickson (4-12, 4.11 ERA)

Hendrickson is 0-0 with a 6.30 ERA in two previous appearances against the Marlins.

FLA: LHP Scott Olsen (9-4, 3.90 ERA)

Olsen, who is 7-1 with a 2.49 ERA over his last 12 starts, has not lost since June 28 against the Devil Rays.

Player to watch

Dodgers catcher Russell Martin ranks in the top 10 in 11 offensive categories for National League rookies, and Los Angeles is 41-28 (.594) when he starts behind the plate.
