August 10, 200620 yr Why in the world do we have to keep putting starters in the bullpen? I understand that we have an overload of starters but why cant we bring some relievers from the minors to pitch? Moe and Mitre imo are not 7/8th inning guys. Pinto could be someday but he walks too many batters. Messy/Herges are too inconsistant to be 7/8th inning guys. Tank is pretty much the only pitcher that is capable.. Argh.. I just needed to vent :lol . Any agree with me? What relievers are ready in the minors- If any?

My list of projected MLB relivers from High A ball - AAA Jason Vargas Chris Resop Jose Garcia Harvey Garcia Jesus Delgado Scott Nestor Jacob Marceaux Scott Tyler Adam Bostick Kurt Koehler Paul Mildren Todd Doolittle Chris Mobley James Brauer Matt Goyen Todd Doolittle Allen Baxter (currently in rookie ball rehab)
August 10, 200620 yr Exactly. There is no one really ready right now to use. We pretty much have to go with what we have right now. Tomorrow will be another day, so we can try and get the W and win the series.
August 10, 200620 yr In the bigs though, you dont "develop" major league relievers. They come from other places such as washed out starter or a guy who cant last that many innings in the minors. They just (for the most part) won't be guys who are developed.

August 10, 200620 yr Most MLB relievers began as minor league starters. Fact is those that relieve in A ball simply aren't very good.

August 11, 200620 yr Seriously, why does every single one of our pitchers in the minors have "closer potential?" Not every single one, just the ones who have "ace" or "number 2 or 3" potential
