Dmitri Young Released by Tigs

Featured Replies

Don't really know what happened, but D-Young has been cut.

I guess we'll know more in a bit. Urbina had a blow-up last year and was traded that night. Perhaps there was some sort of off-field altercation? That or the drinking got out of control. Who knows.

Dombrowski said it was purely for on the field reasons

Yeah, but...

If that's the case, why is Neifi still on the team?

easy... it's the shadez

edit: DaMeat had some slick ones too

Dombrowski said it was purely for on the field reasons

maybe he said that just to avoid having to air the dirty laundry in public

who knows...the guy has been on a rapid decline and is very injury prone, but he's still capable of hitting the ball well

Not really a move you'd expect from the team in the best record in the AL

AP Reports

Young was activated from the disabled list July 21 after he left the Tigers on May 22 to undergo treatment for substance abuse at a California rehab center.

In my opinion, he and his brother are just plain jerks who don't know how to conduct themselves (hence their off the field problems).

This is a smart move by Detroit. Ever since Da Meat Hook came back, Thames has been ice cold at the dish. Him being the everyday DH will help Thames get on a roll again, and Young just isn't that good anymore anyways.

In defense of his brother, the bat throwing thing may have been an isolated incident

Depends which way you see it, I gzuess right now he could be an upgrade, and he IS a veteran, but how will he get along with our players?
