The 2006 ALDS: New York Yankees VS. Detroit Tigers

Great game for Wang. Leave the game with 7 outs to go and a 7-3 lead? Can't ask for much more than that.

I'm sorry, hate all you want, but Jeter is $$ in October.

Even if the Tigers can't pull out a win, their 2nd goal should be putting enough pressure on their pen so that Torre is forced to use Rivera more then 1 inning.

Jeter is a f***ing badass.

Not a rational baseball fan on this planet that wouldn't want him on their team.

Je.

Sus.

Jeter is good.

BTW, why all the love for the Yanks on this board? You guys trying to clutch onto some sort of winning feeling once this near-perfect lineup wins the World Series? Seems kinda weird.

Redonk.

What more can this guy do to shut the haters up?

Do that many people do that anymore? I always thought that was more of a late 90s thing.

And I quote:

Position by position breakdown:

Pos. Yankees/ Tigers/ Edge

SS. Jeter/ Guillen/ Tigers

Seriously, though, how do you define an intangible like this guy has? Where do you find it?

in my case, Ive always liked Jeter and ARod... I just want to see them play well

I could care less if the Yanks win

It's cool man...I like Jeter and A-Rod as a player.

I'm just surprised at the fan dynamic. If this were 2001 everyone would be yelling Go Tigers and saying they hated the Yankees. Since they haven't won since 2000, I guess that tide has turned and now everyone would be rooting against the Red Sox if they were in it.

LOL @ refrencing that guy for any sensible baseball discussion. Just look at his board handle and discount the opinion, thats what I usually do.

I'm a Sox fan and I have absolutely 100% respect for Jeter, I have for a long time. I have no problem with him. He, Torre, and Mo are good guys I've never hated on them sans the heat of the battle.

The rest of the roster can suck a dick. :mischief

It looks like taking the over bet tonight would have paid off.... and it also looks like the Yanks are going to cover the spread here. Ball game!

Is that even right?? A 0.81 era in the post season? And dropping? Yeah, Mo is pretty good in October too.

Congrats to my boys!
