TSwift25
Byrnes. Just don't ever take him off camera. He's gold. It's either he's got such fantastic insight or he's just Spiccoli incarnate. Seriously, he's awesome. More Byrnes gold: "I don't see why it's such a shock that the A's are up...I don't see why anyone, including myself, picked Minnessota...but I did that because the A's traded me." I LOVE THIS GUY. Hollyberry
Byrnes looks like Kruk. I told my dad that Kruk had by-pass surgery .
TSwift25
Byrnes looks like Kruk. I told my dad that Kruk had by-pass surgery . Ummm...no? Another bit of gold: Byrnes: "I mean Santana gave 8 innings and 2 runs, I don't know what else you want from him." Ravech: "Well, I'm sure the Twins would have like no runs." Byrnes: "Yeah, and I wish I hit .450 this year."

Bryan
yanks grounds crew are the worst at handling these situations....they could have been playing the whole time This situation was not handled by the Yankees grounds-crew. It was taken much higher up, believe that.

Hammerhead
I really don't like Sheffield at first base.
TSwift25
There's where Girardi learned from. Jeter bunting in the 2 hole to move over Damon. I'm just amazed how much more comfortable Abreu looks in New York than he did in Philly. Oooooooooh ARod. Someone get him out of New York. yankeefan21
Thanks to ARod for a bases loaded K. Appreciate that. And Detroit has their first lead of the Series... And here comes the "soft under belly" of our lineup; Matsui, Posada, and Cano... :lol
Hammerhead
Sheffield is a pathetic first baseman. Tigers' leading HR hitter bunting? With two outs? :headscratch
yankeefan21
On the plus side for the Tigers, Sheff is in the 4 hole with his lofty .167 then you have Giambi [who at least takes pitches] then another .167 hitter in Arod. I love the patience Posada is showing, though. Good to see. Now let's see Cano get rolling! Oh well. So much for that... Just have to rely on Damon for a 3 run bomb. yankeefan21
BOOO YEAH!! 3-1 Yanks! And Jeter continues the 2 out rally with a double... If I'm Verlander, I walk Abreu to get to Sheff.

yankeefan21
Baseball commissioner Bud Selig, reached at his home in Milwaukee, declined comment, referring questions to Jimmie Lee Solomon, executive vice president of baseball operations in the commissioner's office. "We wanted to get the game in. We thought we could," Solomon said. "The forecast indicated we could get in two, three innings tops and would have to stop against for an hour-and-a-half to two hours. We didn't want to burn up two pitchers if we had that coming through. We reconvened, talked and we made a decision jointly with the commissioner." Source: Yahoo! CapeFish
Go New York Tigers! Go Detroit Yankees! Tie game...how fun I don't know who to cheer for.....but still an interesting game to watch. 1 gone for the Yanks in their 6th.
yankeefan21
This is not good news. We don't want a tie game going in to late innings... Wow. Thames has Mussina's number. And, if I recall correctly, his first MLB AB was a HR against RJ as a YANKEE. He'll be penciled in towards the top of the lineup tomorrow!
