December 5, 200619 yr shouldn't matter if they are the two best teams...most people voted for florida because they didn't want to see a rematch...not because they were the better team.....and if Florida's tough schedule was so good then why did it take the xtra game to move them ahead of Michigan....why??? Because they barely beat some teams on their schedule. And those idiots who voted Michigan 4th, their voting license should be revoked.
December 5, 200619 yr Just wanted to point out that in 1996, Florida lost its conference championship game to Florida State, then got to play them again for the championship game and won. Florida fans were singing a different tune about a rematch back then. FSU was the final regular season game, as it is every year. UF then beat Alabama in the conference championship. FSU can't play UF in the conference championship, as FSU is not in the SEC. It's still the same scenario as the OSU-UM one. It wasnt the same scenario It was more or less the same scenario, because they still got a chance at a rematch, which nobody thinks Mich. should have. They are essentially being punished for having a great team in their conference. So even if they should be #2, they never had a chance to make it to the national title game unless they beat the #1 team in the nation.

UF was #3 going into the game against FSU. #2 Arizona state lost their game against #4 Ohio State. And UF lucked out in 1996 that FSU went to the Sugar Bowl. Don't forget prior to the BCS the 4 major bowls had tie-ins relative to conferences. SEC champ would always go to the Sugar Bowl, Rose Bowl was the Big 10 and Pac 10, the Orange hosted the Big 12 and Big East champs and the Fiesta was not one of the huge bowls it is today in 1996 (In 1996 the Fiesta bowl was #7 Penn State against #20 Texas).

Michigan= did not win Conference and I don't care what division their in. 12-1 with a conference champ in the SEC is more impressive then 11-1 in 2nd. I don't understand the problem.
December 5, 200619 yr Michigan is the better team but Florida is more deserving. I'm pretty much impartial on the whole thing.

December 5, 200619 yr What doesnt make sense is why was Florida gaining ground by barely beating FSU while Michigan remained idle. Another scenario i would like to think about is what would have happend if Michigan beat ohio state who would go to the championship then.

Its not Michigan's fault that the number 1 team in the country is in their conference The top 2 teams in the country, believe it or not, can both be in the same conference. I dont understand the problem with that.

Even Louisville is more deserving than Michigan.
December 5, 200619 yr Michigan crushing Notre Dame on the road and Beating a tough Wisconsin team is far more impressive then beating tennessee by 1. Also the Michigan didnt win their confrence is a terrible argument and basically says that there would be no way for notre dame or temple to ever get into the national championship. The national championship is the 2 best teams in the nation not the 2 best confrence champions.
December 5, 200619 yr YAWN. Waste of time even discussing this considering the Gators are in and Michigan isn't.
December 5, 200619 yr waste of time considering OSU is gonna smoke the gators, game will be over by halftime just like last years fiesta bowl

The national championship is the 2 best teams in the nation not the 2 best confrence champions. Wisconsin didn't beat any of the Top 25 teams all season long. I'm not impressed by an 11-1 record when the 11 doesn't include any wins over any top team. Notre Dame only beat one of the Top 25 team all season long, No. 25 UCLA, and I'm not impressed by a 10-2 record when the major achievement in the 10 is a win over a 7-5 team. LSU, Arkansas and Tenn are more impressive wins than any Michigan win.
December 5, 200619 yr Tennessee is really impressive this year with one win against a top 25 team. Tennessee's win over Cal is more impressive than any Notre Dame or Wisconsin win.
December 5, 200619 yr waste of time considering OSU is gonna smoke the gators, game will be over by halftime just like last years fiesta bowl Not to bring up old bulls***, but Miami fans said that in '02. It's college football. With 51 days to prepare, one shot, ANYTHING can happen. I think we'll beat them, but not by the wide margin everyone else. I got ten on my sheet, no more, no less. It'll be a good game.
December 6, 200619 yr If Stocco is healthy Wisconsin will beat Arkansas and show the SEC whose boss.....

I said the 2 best teams CAN be from the same conference, and that Michigan shouldnt be punished for being in the Big Ten alongside Ohio State

Another scenario i would like to think about is what would have happend if Michigan beat ohio state who would go to the championship then. The question can also be asked why should Michigan remain #2 in the first place after a LOSS. When was the last time you saw a top 5 team remain the same after a loss during the season?
December 6, 200619 yr If Stocco is healthy Wisconsin will beat Arkansas and show the SEC whose boss..... Wisconsin is going to get McFaddowned. If Wisconsin has any sort of coaching, they won't get "McFaddowned" ... That Arkansas offense is so incredibly simple and predictable. Just like FSU didn't get "Tebowned" because it is pretty easy to stop what you know is coming, it shouldn't be too hard to stop Arkansas when you don't have to respect the passing game.

Ding ding ding....Stocco + PJ Hill + Stout Defense = Victory.

The only thing about Arkansas... Their QB is SO bad, they occasionally run that snap to the RB with NO quarterback in the game and just run the ball... And most times it works for 4+ yard gains.
