According to the website below, the Cubs have signed starter Ted Lilly to a 4 year, $40 million deal and starter Gil Meche to a 4 year, $35 million deal. Great signings.

the meceh signing is questionable, bu the Cubs need starting pitching. Don't forget, a pitcher who can get 15 wins and an era of 4.30 in the AL will probably have better numbers in the NL.

10 million for Lilly, moving to the NL, in this market is not a bad move.

 

So few of the members here understand the current market and the current economics of baseball.
