sgleason02
RHP Chris Reitsma, Braves Dec. 14: The Yankees may have interest in adding Reitsma to improve their bullpen depth, reported the Newark Star-Ledger. Reitsma, who turns 29 this month, has been an on-and-off closer for the Reds and Braves the last several seasons, but was 1-2 with an 8.68 ERA for the Braves in 2006, an injury-marred season that ended early with elbow surgery. Reitsma also fits the needs of the Marlins, reports the Miami Herald. courtesy of mlb.com I guess if he comes cheap enough, why not....little skeptical about people coming off season-ending elbow surgery, though. MGuest
Sure why not, with the luck the Marlins have restoring closers career, anything can happen. :thumbup
Mephisto
c/o Mlb.com Dec. 30: The South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports that Reitsma has offers on the table from six teams, but the Marlins aren't one of them. Agent Mike Paolercio said, "We're considering two or three one-year deals and two or three multi-year situations. Each one of them offers different advantages and disadvantages." The righty was 1-2 with an 8.68 ERA for the Braves in 2006, an injury-marred season that ended early with elbow surgery.

furcalchick
who wants him? they must be really desperate. this guy had a 9.11 era at one point last year (not a joke). he's terrible and has done little expect to blow games for our (braves) pen for the past two seasons. we thought he was a good closer after dumping kolb, but he decides to blow games after his trial period. we were glad to be rid of that annoyance and actually get pen guys (although their talent is somewhat questionable as always). The_Punisher
I'd take Reitsma. He had a bad year, but has the potencial to turn it up. He will be under no pressure, and he'll do great.
