that's right. boycott the fag.

Yup! I don't support commies.

Some of you, I percieve, are missing the bigger picture. It isn't about whether Wayne is a jerk, or an a**hole.

To me its the biggest news story in South Florida sports INCLUDING the games with Chicago. Wayne declared war on the Fish Wednesday night.

Intelligent, sophisticated and worldly businessmen do not take from their tenant with one hand and then go to their tenant's competitor for the game of something as important as the NLCS and root for the competitor UNLESS you are, in a premeditated way, as they say, with malice and forethought, sending a message to the Marlins to go f*** themselves.

It's not done.

It's beyond inappropriate.

It's villainous. And to repeat myself, premeditated.

The act of a traitor, a Benedict Arnold. There's an enormous story unfolding here (behind the scenes) about the relationship between The Marlins and Huizenga.

Can any of you imagine the ex-owner and creator of any franchise in ANY sport going into that team's competitor's house and wearing their colors? He had a lot of other options available to him, this had to be done for a purpose.

And Loria? After that hit he took the day after winning the Wild Card from Miller (MVP = Most Vile Parasite) on the front page of the sports section for everyone to see, and now this? Imagine what he must have been thinking when he saw this.

So the question is, is it Wayne's intention to drive major league baseball out of the market, allowing him to say "See, I told you it didn't work here" thus feeding his already bloated ego? Or is it purely financial? Not wanting consumers to buy season tickets to the Marlins at the expense of his team. Or more probably is it about a new stadium?

This was an ugly, despicable, and calculated move on his part. I hope we some day get the whole story.

I hate to say this, but a##hole Wayne is on the drivers seat.

He knows that as the Marlins advance on the post season the presure keeps building for South Florida to find a new home for the team.

No matter what, the current lease will have to be honored by the Marlins or MLB. He doesn't give a rat a** about this team or South Florida sports fan or the community down here.

Dolphins fans, beware!

"Questionable allegiances? After greeting friends behind the Cubs dugout before the national anthem, former Florida Marlins owner Wayne Huizenga was asked who he was cheering for Tuesday night. "Are you kidding me?" said Huizenga, who is originally from Chicago. "You have to root for the Cubs, you absolutely have to." But what about his old team, the one that won the World Series. "No, I'm from here. I don't care who they're playing. It could be the Joliet Schmucks, and I'd still root for the Cubs." "

CHOOSING SIDES

Huizenga a Cubbie?

The former Marlins owner shows up behind the Chicago dugout before Game 1 and professes lifelong admiration for the 'other' team.

CHICAGO - Perhaps we have discovered the real reason former Marlins owner Wayne Huizenga was so eager to dismantle the club after it won the 1997 World Series.

Turns out he's a turncoat.

Huizenga surfaced behind the Cubs dugout just moments before the start of Tuesday's opening game in the National League Championship Series and, according to The Chicago Tribune, professed his lifelong allegiance to the Cubs.

''You have to root for the Cubs, you absolutely have to,'' he said. ``I don't care who they're playing. . . . I'd still root for the Cubs.''

Huizenga, whose grandfather founded Chicago's first garbage-hauling company in 1894, developed his Cubs loyalty while growing up the suburban Chicago community of Evergreen Park. But he moved with his family to Broward County in the early 1950s and now owns Pro Player Stadium, meaning he stands to make a tidy sum if the Marlins reach the World Series.

Huizenga was not available for comment Wednesday. And current Marlins executives -- including owner Jeffrey Loria, president David Samson and general manager Admin Beinfest -- would not comment on Huizenga's comments.

But New York native Samson was asked whom he would root if the Huizenga-owned Dolphins were to make it to the Super Bowl against the New York Giants.

''I would be pulling for the Dolphins,'' he said. ``I always pull for the local teams.''

Loria was slightly less diplomatic.

''I'm not much of a football fan,'' he said.

While management was doing its best to ignore Huizenga, several Marlins players were more than willing to talk about South Florida icon Jimmy Buffett. The singer also copped to being a Cubs fan after leading the Wrigley Field crowd in a seventh-inning rendition of Take Me Out to the Ballgame while wearing a white Cubs home jersey.

Shocked, but not really THAT shocked.

He says he's from Chicago originally, but he's been living in South Florida since the early 1950s (that's 50 years!). He showed no loyalty in tearing up the 1997 team, why should he show any kind of civic loyalty now?

Just another reason to go all the way (like if we needed another reason) and shove it up H's rectum.

Wayne's just on the f***ing bandwagon, why didnt this come out of the closet (yeah there is a double meaning) when he sold the team? i lived in Arizona for 4 years but i was born here and have lived here for most of my life. it would be like me all of sudden in 2001 saying "yeah go D-Backs! Ive always been a Dback fan". its bulls***, he's just getting on the bandwagon. Cubs lose this series and he wont be wearing any cubby clothing for a while.

the Spooneybarger s*** gets on my nerves even more, he's an actual player and he wouldnt mind wearing the jersey of a team thats standing between him and a pennant, thats crazy.

Before you all get your panties in a wad, the story is not true at all. Huizenga wasn't even in Chicago, and has said and still says he will always be a Marlins fan. Regardless of what you think of him, this is absolutely reprehensible of the media to print a story without substantiating it first.

and for people to be upset with Spooney is absurd

he still is an a-hole.

I also heard that someone was inpersonating him in Chicago and that he is here in Florida. I hope that the newspapers write the truth tomorrow. When I heard this story originally I couldn't believe that an intelligent man would say such a thing like this. I am glad that it wasn't true. I still can't stand the man after what he did to us in 1997.

Spoonman is in his early 20's and he grew up a Braves fan so none of us should expect him to be a scholar give the kid a break...

as for Buffet and Wayne :fyou

intelligent man

Huizenga? Are you sure?

he's a dork. He's been gone from Chicago for almost 50 years! I've been gone for 15, and I pull for most of the local Miami teams, 'cause it's my home now. If it was the White Sox vs the Marlins in the World Series, I would pull for both....
