Says he's always been a Cubs fan. guess he grew up there...

still, he OWNED the team here! now THAT takes some guts to announce it that way. this guy still has buisinesses in south florida!

what a piece of garbage. to go out & say that, after all he's put this community through...

Die Wayne Die!!!!!

Playing Devils advocate here. He knows that if we go all the way, we will most likely get a Stadium built. And be out of the worst stadium deal know to the history of proffesional sports!

lol, good point Fresh. he won't be able to be the a-hole landlord anymore.

I just heard this too, on QAM.

They were saying how lame it is that he said that - in light of the fact that HE IS THE MARLINS' LANDLORD.

Only in dysfunctional South Florida! LOL

Wayne is going to pay. People don't like him and the Dolphins are a continual slide down.

as Marlins fans we ought to figure out some way to go to the games but contribute as little $$ as possible to Wayne's pockets.

if they just had Metro & Tri-Rail access near the stadium we wouldn't have to give him parking money. also we shouldn't buy any club level seats, & bring a bag lunch or something, lol (he gets a fat % of the concessions)

obviously a new stadium is the answer, but what about in the meantime?

can we work out a new lease with that fat f***?

can we work out a new lease with that fat f***?

Wayne is not about to do anything to help this team now or in the future. All he is interested in money, civc duty are not words that will ever cross his lips if there's ten cents to be made off someone else's sweat.

More reason why I hate the Dolphins and if you don't think there is a hidden agenda to the whole Dolphins media thing in radio and print...please open your eyes. Wayne wants to destroy this franchise anyway he can by bad service at the stadium, to high parking prices. believe it the truth is out there

The skin on his face looks like the moons surface.

wayne is a piece of garbage.

why there is such an infatuation with the dolphins above all else is beyond me.

they were always good with marino, but sucked when it counted most.

that still continues.

Lets count titles in the last 20 years. Marlins 1. Dolphins 0.

Lets count title series/games in the past 20 years.

Marlins 1. Panthers 1. Dolphins 1 (They were there in 83 right?)

Needless to say....after this year...that will be 0 for the Dolphins.

I dont get it.

What a POS that guy is. This makes me sick...

Further proof that Selig needs to finally put on the brass ones and have MLB step in and negotiate a better lease. Huge confilict of interest here.

Also, if Taliabue had any integrity whatsoever, seeing what Wayne did to the Marlins, he'd get him out of the NFL. He's a disgrace to all sports and the human race.

Yea, wouldn't he rather Florida go above and beyond, so we advance?

After all, HE would make even more money, and after all, he IS all about the money.

Hurt him where he lives.

Test drive cars @ Maronne & then buy from broker.

Do not buy anything from HWH businesses.

I have boycotted since 1998 -

Tell Dolphin advertisers you do not like HWH - take their freebees & don't buy anything. Tell them what you're doing and why - they will stop advertising on Dolphins broadcasts.

All the more reason to get the Marlins a brand new stadium. So Wayne can pay for JRS himself with a crappy football team that only plays 8 times a year there. HAHAHAHAHAHA

We need to get to the World Series...damn we do...

What an utter tool. He's SO praying this stadium thing doesn't work out. Him and that tool of a Miami Beach mayor.. I guess, collectively, you could call them a toolbox.

I usually can't stand Penelas, but if this stadium thing actually goes through (not like the c**ktease a couple years ago), I'll actually vote for the guy when he runs for Senate.

He lost so much money on the Marlins that now he is hoping to bury them once and for all. He's going to try and make as much money as he supposedly "lost" by sucking the team dry.

That's fine Wayne :fyou

Easy. Miami-Dade Transit is providing shuttle transportation to the games. And bring your own food, if they allow it at the stadium.

no reason to stop ripping on Wayne though! :)

Hot, the story (the Huizenga one) is not bogus, the Tribune had it Wednesday and the Herald had it today.

-------------------------

Here's the quote from the Chicago Tribune

"Questionable allegiances? After greeting friends behind the Cubs dugout before the national anthem, former Florida Marlins owner Wayne Huizenga was asked who he was cheering for Tuesday night. "Are you kidding me?" said Huizenga, who is originally from Chicago. "You have to root for the Cubs, you absolutely have to." But what about his old team, the one that won the World Series. "No, I'm from here. I don't care who they're playing. It could be the Joliet Schmucks, and I'd still root for the Cubs." "

--------------------------

And here's today's Herald

CHOOSING SIDES

Huizenga a Cubbie?

The former Marlins owner shows up behind the Chicago dugout before Game 1 and professes lifelong admiration for the 'other' team.

By KEVIN BAXTER

CHICAGO - Perhaps we have discovered the real reason former Marlins owner Wayne Huizenga was so eager to dismantle the club after it won the 1997 World Series.

Turns out he's a turncoat.

Huizenga surfaced behind the Cubs dugout just moments before the start of Tuesday's opening game in the National League Championship Series and, according to The Chicago Tribune, professed his lifelong allegiance to the Cubs.

''You have to root for the Cubs, you absolutely have to,'' he said. ``I don't care who they're playing. . . . I'd still root for the Cubs.''

Huizenga, whose grandfather founded Chicago's first garbage-hauling company in 1894, developed his Cubs loyalty while growing up the suburban Chicago community of Evergreen Park. But he moved with his family to Broward County in the early 1950s and now owns Pro Player Stadium, meaning he stands to make a tidy sum if the Marlins reach the World Series.

Huizenga was not available for comment Wednesday. And current Marlins executives -- including owner Jeffrey Loria, president David Samson and general manager Admin Beinfest -- would not comment on Huizenga's comments.

But New York native Samson was asked whom he would root if the Huizenga-owned Dolphins were to make it to the Super Bowl against the New York Giants.

''I would be pulling for the Dolphins,'' he said. ``I always pull for the local teams.''

Loria was slightly less diplomatic.

''I'm not much of a football fan,'' he said.

While management was doing its best to ignore Huizenga, several Marlins players were more than willing to talk about South Florida icon Jimmy Buffett. The singer also copped to being a Cubs fan after leading the Wrigley Field crowd in a seventh-inning rendition of Take Me Out to the Ballgame while wearing a white Cubs home jersey.

Grrrrr...... :chair

Oh well, you know what? Who cares?! Different strokes for different folks. We always knew that Huizenga was a jerk-off, greedy, a**hole so I am not surprised. As for Jimmy Buffet, I have nothing to say. Even though it sucks he's not rooting for the home team, but whatever. That's his business.

huizenga is an a-hole, we all knew that. as for jimmy buffet, what can you expect from a commie?

He's a Commie? Nice sig btw. La Reina Rocks!! :)
