I missed last weeks' show/results....I am STUNNED that Gedeon didn't make it. He had an amazing voice and such a tremendous attitude.

 

Anyway, my favorite now is definitely either Ace (because of his rugged good looks), Paris (she's loveable) or Kelly (she's so damn cute).

 

Kevin's run ends tomorrow. He's just not good enough, and has that lisp.

 

Dark horse--Taylor. You have to figure they'll dye his hair to make him look younger.

Part of Gideon leaving is the fault of the show IMO. They pick & choose who's going to get air time & backstory, etc. Gideon got little to no attention throughout the show.

 

I think the McPhee girl is very good, but the favorites IMO are probably Mandika, Lisa, Chris, and Taylor. I doubt they'll change Taylor at all, it's partly his look that makes him stand out.

 

Kelly's very cute but can't quite match up with the voice, although she's close. Bucky & Kevin should be the next ones out.

Hopefully Katherine McPhee doesn't win so we can get a photo spread of her in a FHM or Maxim.

I'm pretty sure the favorites are Ace, Taylor, and Kellie. If this is to be believed.

 

Unfortunately, Ace and Kellie are two of the worst singers in the competition.

 

Paris Bennett has been a massive disappointment. She was my favorite going in, and the wheels have completely come off that train.

 

I don't think Kevin Covais is going anywhere for a while.

 

Either Melissa, Lisa, Elliot, or Bucky will be booted this week.

 

My favorite guy by far is Elliot. He's got a very easygoing personality, and definitely has the best voice of all the guys. Chris and Taylor can both sing. But Chris sounds like the frontman to every crappy alt-rock band on the radio these days, and probably has no versatility whatsoever. We'll see how he does with Stevie Wonder. Taylor is kind of annoying with all his WOOOO!'s, and all his Ray Charles mannerisms get a little older each week. Ace and Bucky both sound decent at times, but it's mixed in with a lot of awful. Kevin is a joke.

 

My favorite of the girls, and my favorite overall (by far), is Katharine McPhee. Mandisa can belt like no one else, but she's kind of shaky in the quieter moments of songs. Paris has a ton of potential, but it's impossible to get a read on who she is. She looks completely different every week, and her personality seems kind of put on. Lisa is very competent and boring. Melissa is okay. Kellie is very limited as a singer, but the people love her.

Bingo. Melissa gets no airtime and Kellie Pickler gets 10 minutes per week to hog the mic with stories about old women throwing themselves at her grandpa and calamari.

I wasn't at all upset about Gideon leaving though. My favorite guy is Elliot...he has the best voice by far, but I doubt he'll win. Chris is decent but seems one-dimensional. The rest of the guys are blah, but I hope Ace stays around for a while because I like to look at him.

The way he talked sounded rehearsed and practices. 'That' was weird. But his energy and voice were great.

Wow, when Paris sang after her performance in the little post-song interview with Ryan, the judges were looking at her with disdain.

 

I agree--it's not good taste to sing again after your actual performance. Man, that really ruined it for me. Why couldn't she just say 'thank you'?

I think Gideon was voted off because of his cocky attitude. I don't buy that airtime bull sh*t, they all get a chance to showcase who they are.

According to the dialidol.com website, Lisa, Melissa, Ace, and Kevin are the ones in the danger zone. Lisa was the lowest.

I voted for Taylor today. What a great performance. I really like that guy, I hope he makes it to the final 3 or 4.

Mabdul I agree on Chris and Paris. I thought Paris chose awful songs for her talent the past few weeks, but tonight she was one of the best. Meanwhile Chris really just wants to sing Staind songs in the mirror to himself. They were supposed to sing a Stevie Wonder song, and he cops out by doing the Chili Peppers' version of Higher Ground. What an ass.

 

Maybe Taylor's schtick will wear off on me eventually, but it hasn't yet. I'm still rooting for him.

He's a countrified Skynnard fan with a raspy voice. He did 'ok'.

I thought Katharine and Taylor were far and away the best. Taylor's great at choosing songs.

 

Paris did better than she's been doing, but there's still something about her I really don't like. And, yeah, singing like that at the end was a horrible idea. You had your time.

 

I just about cracked up when I realized that Chris was going to do Higher Ground. Is there any way they're going to get him to break out of that box? I'm thinking no.

 

Ace was terrible. Kellie was better than the judges made her out to be. Elliot was decent, though not his best.

 

I wasn't impressed with Mandisa...once again, during the quieter parts, her voice was surprisingly tame. I'm starting to think the only thing she can do is belt. Compare her to Katharine, who can also belt, but whose voice is so strong and clear throughout the whole song.

 

Bucky was out of his element. I thought the end of Melissa's performance was painful. Lisa is a robot. Kevin is still a joke, but I enjoyed the joke tonight.

good point about Katherine vs Mandisa. Katherine even nails the soft stuff. Plus she's easy on the eyes.

Melissa was having problems with her voice (sore?) You could really tell. Even so, Katherine was much better. She and Paris did the best--but damnit, Paris lost my vote with that bush league crap at the end.

How cool was it that Taylor was holding the harmonica the whole time? The judges asked him what he was holding and he lifted it up. What a fun guy.
