Iowa
Is he the absolute final last resort left in the free agent market? Would he be a better starter than what we have? I think i just threw up in my mouth.. Hes like 86 years old. Thoughts?

WildMarlinMan2003
He's not as good as Bernie but he's only like 2 years removed from 36 homers. I always like having veterans to help the kids play the game.
Fish4Life
I wouldnt mind this either but Beinfest contiues to say that CF will come within meaning Ross, Borchard, Reggie, Reed, Sanchez, Amezega..
jsprt05
Hell no... he'll only play for a team on the west coast anyway
Hammerhead
Hes like 86 years old. Exactly why I'd say 100%, absolutely no way in hell.
chefbob
I laughed at this....I saw Finley play in the minors. I'm an old 33.
MoveFishToOrlando
why do people keep saying bring this guy in, bring this guy in. the FO has said time and time again...they are going from what they have. steve finely, bernie williams, no1 else is coming here to help the club. i think finely would be a fine addition but the ownership has forbidden any more entrants in the race for CF. Psycho Sid
He's just not that good anymore and he's 42. There's no point.

The Final payroll is to be turned in upon the closing of Cabs and Gregg's arbitration hearing. I believe if a move is made during ST it will be a low cost move. Someone like Elsbury or even Upton who may become available. Don't hold your breath

The Red Sox are waiting to see how Coco Crisp bounces back they may decide to make a move after that, but he is not on the table now Maybe Murphy? MVPosey
he'd still be good as a backup...with us, he was performing great until he started playing him everyday when Moises Alou got hurt...i just don't think he has the capabilites to be an everyday player anymore If I was a GM with an extra backup outfield spot, I'd give him a shot
Jack McKeon's Cigar Butt
Our center field spot might not get hammered out until this season's trade deadline. We might end up with Alex Sanchez as our starter until right before the trade deadline, when a team like the Red Sox might be wiling to give up Ellsbury for some bullpen help, say someone like Kevin Gregg. You never know what a team might be willing to do in the heat of the pennant race...i.e. Larrry Andersen for Jeff Bagwell.
