March 7, 200718 yr that sucks...mare is the best kicker in dolphins history by far...sad to see him go...now we will get a sign and release a kicker by weekly...yay!
March 7, 200718 yr Jay Feely is on the verge of signing with the Dolphins. Expect Olindo Mare to be released in an accompying move. http://blogs.nydailynews.com/giants/archiv...h_bucs_feel.php
March 7, 200718 yr Author Is anyone really going to miss him? I'll admit his last few years haven't been so great but he's one of the best kickers ever and he made a few game winners that I won't soon be forgetting. So yes, I'll miss him.
March 7, 200718 yr Good, he was putrid last year. but had a great career here...but hey...its all about what have you done lately right?

He's a freakin' kicker, man. Sheesh. I wonder how suicidal you were when Marino retired.
March 7, 200718 yr This move was both expected and necessary. You can't pay 2 mil for a kicker who can't make FGs. As he got better and better at kicking long on kickoffs, his FG accuracy got worse and worse.

March 7, 200718 yr I would be lying if I said I'm not going to miss him. Olindo was one of the best ever... I think you may even see his name in big white letters inside Dolphins Stadium one day...
March 7, 200718 yr that sucks...mare is the best kicker in dolphins history by far...sad to see him go...now we will get a sign and release a kicker by weekly...yay! Stoyanovich Please! Stoyanovic ain't got sh*t on Garo Yepremian or even Uwe Von Schamann. Despite all of Yepremian's success, many people remember him for an embarrassing incident in Super Bowl VII. With his team leading the Washington Redskins 14-0, Yepremian was sent on to the field to kick a field goal with slightly more than two minutes left, which would have put the game out of reach. The field goal attempt was blocked by Bill Brundige, and Yepremian managed to get to the ball before any other player did. Instead of just falling on the ball to preserve the Dolphins' 14-0 lead, he picked it up and frantically attempted to throw a pass. The ball slipped from his hands and went straight up in the air. Yepremian then batted it back up in the air, and it went right into the arms of his former Lions teammate, Redskins cornerback Mike Bass, who eluded Yepremian's feeble attempt to tackle him and returned it for a touchdown. The Dolphins managed to hold on to win, 14-7 to preserve their perfect season, but Yepremian was widely denounced by his teammates, the fans and the press for the incident, many of whom pointed out that Miami likely would have been the first team ever to shut out their opponent in the Super Bowl if not for his error. Nevertheless, "Garo's Gaffe" made him famous and led to a lucrative windfall of speaking engagements and endorsements. lol. I liked Stoyanovich. Never seen the two you mention kick...
March 7, 200718 yr i agree with Wild Card on the 1st statement. but no will not see his name in white letters.... he has sucked the last two- three years..... he isnt what he use to be, and that hurts cuz everytime we had a FG i knew it was automatic.... i think the best memory i will of Mare is the game agasnt Denver it was MOnday Night Game..... and he hit the game winner, i thought we were gonna win the super bowl that year after that game, and then fiedler went down and the season went down the drain... R.I.P MARE

R.I.P MARE That was a Sunday night game actually. And that's the first time I hear anyone say the season went down the crapper because of something other than the way Fiedler played. :shifty
March 7, 200718 yr Wasn't that the season that Ray Lucas happened? If so, he basically destroyed the team singlehandedly. Well, him and Wannstache.
March 8, 200718 yr I would be lying if I said I'm not going to miss him. Olindo was one of the best ever... I think you may even see his name in big white letters inside Dolphins Stadium one day... Haha yeah right

March 8, 200718 yr Jay Feely wanted to stay with the Giants, but the Giants decided kicker wasn’t a position on which they needed to spend extra money. So they chose not to make a competitive offer and Feely agreed to a three-year, $6-million deal with the Dolphins last night, with roughly $2.5 million guaranteed, according to a person with knowledge of the contract details. http://www.newsday.com/sports/printedition...ny-sports-print See ya Lindo! I'll miss your touchbacks but not your diva attitude about infield dirt.
March 8, 200718 yr Goodbye Lindo. I'm not going to go as far as saying I'll miss you, but thanks. You came through for the team when they needed you...most of the time.
