Can Pavano match up with Prior?

Featured Replies

If the Cubs put more than 3 runs up on the board, I think we will probably lose the game. Prior is an amazing pitcher... arguably the best in the NL. If Pavano can keep the game close, and we can knock Prior out of the game in the 6th or 7th, I think we can beat them with our bullpen.

Derek Lee and A-Gon need to step up offensively.

I say we move Cabera to SS and put Lowell back in at 3B and use A-Gon as a pinch-hitter maybe.

BELIEVE

Use the same lineup that we did on sunday. Instead of beckett pitching, you will have Pavano. That is it.

I want Encarnacion back though. Why did they take him out of the line-up instead of A-Gon? Encarnacion was doing pretty good.

I don't know, taking Sea bass out may make sense, but he is better defensively in an important position for us. while Encarnation is excellent defensively, RF is not as important at Wrigley defensively as Shortstop.

I think the ? should be can Carl match up with the Cubs' hitters?

Just a note, I want to say I HATE DAVE LITTLEFIELD(you moron)!!!!!you guess why

RF at wrigley is hard to play

not as bad as SS though. the surface and field in general are not friendly.

It's time for Chicago to come into the 20th century with their NL ballpark.

Carl Pavano matches up pretty well with the Cubs. Here are his stats:

3.86 ERA, 7.0IP, 4K, 3ER, 2BB, .241AVG.

Gotta believe...

If Pavano can just pitch his game ans hit his spots there is no problem. We will be fine if he just hits his spots. if he pitches at least 6 innings with only 2 runs that will be good for us. our pen will do the job :D

lets get to the Cubs pen....and we need A-Gon tonite to get Pavz out of jams....the A-Gon to Lee connection and the A-Gon/Castillo/Lee connection have saved many a Marlins pitcher.

Our hitter's need to be patience and take pitches so we can wear down Prior and of course to get men on base....It's important to get the top of the order on base (Pierre,Castillo)So Cabs and Pudge can drive them in.

Pavz Can't match up with Prior but both try to hit there spots (Inside and Outside Corner) and then come with the Slider. If pavz can keep his Split and Slider down his fastball will become more effective. Pavz just cant leave a pitch high like he did to Sammy when he fouled it off.

Pavano has been solid....Our hitters need to start getting hits with RISP. There's no excuse for not being able to drive a man in from second with no outs. We have had many chances to score...

Pavano is performing better then Prior and we must capitalize!

Prior got out of two early jams and thats exactly what we couldn't afford. You have to get to him early and we didn;t. Now he's mowing through the order like nobodys business...doesn't look good
