Where do you guys go to watch games that aren't carried by Cox?

I'm mostly looking for a place on the west side of town (I live only a couple miles west of the mall). I'm sure there are a lot of places that carry them near the University, but I'd rather not have to drive out there. I'm not sure who and who doesn't carry the extra 50 games around here, and looking for suggestions from you guys. :)

It sounds like you are pretty close to the Gainesville Ale House. That is usually a good place to watch sports that are not shown locally.

Im not sure that you guys have gone to Gville Ale House too often for Fish games. Maybe youve called the little girl who answers phones and says, "is that baseball?" and then tells you, I guess it'll be on here. Then I suppose you haven't sat at Ale House waiting for them to turn the game on only for them to tell you (after you remind them to turn it on 14 more times) that apparently it isn't on there. Dockside is the best bet. I've had to drive multiple times from Ale House to Dockside after making the mistake of expecting Ale House to do something right. Any establishment that gets rid of all you can eat wings in favor of all you can eat zingers is doing something wrong.

Beef O'Brady's is probably also worth a shot since it's pretty close to where you are. If you haven't been there before they have 2 west Gainesville locations : one on Archer (west of I-75) and one on NW 39th Avenue. It's a pretty nice place to watch sports, and they have a solid menu.

Back in the day, the favorite sports hangouts were -

Purple Porpoise

Joe's Deli

Orange & Brew

Great Southern Music Hall

The Rat

Any of those places still around?

My Uncle used to run the Joe's Deli on 34th, near the YMCA. Used to hang out there all the time with my cousin (his son) when I was a kid, but he quit several years ago and it closed down not long after. :\

Thanks for the suggestions though :)

I am thinking about breaking down and buying xm radio so i can hear the games because cox isnt going to be carrying alot of games this year and it is not feasible to go to a bar for 75 games . Btw the smoke here is killing me :(

I love my XM radio. Although I listen to marlins games more with gameday audio. But XM offers a lot.

If you are into comedy talk radio, Ron and Fez are the sh-t.

Dockside is the place to go. Good food, good atmosphere, huge TVs and they'll put on whatever you want them to if there's a TV that someone hasn't already requested. You can watch a ton of other games too. I'm home now, but while I was in GVille in August I probably spent 30 hours a week at Dockside watching baseball.
