May 23, 200719 yr I'm not quite sold on the guy from GTown... seemed so ungodly slow. ..dont know much, if anything, about the other center you mentioned Fox, from stanford i think. Have heard good things but have never really seen him play. Where does Horford project? I'm really impressed by him.. maybe Pax could work some magic and trade up. Spencer Hawes from Washington. I'd absolutely love to have him. Probably went a year early from a development standpoint (not from a financial standpoint as he should be top 10). I saw him play in person as a HS senior and he has ridiculous upside in my view. He was up and down during the season because of some injuries and such but I think he will be a damn good pro and he is a perfect fit for the Bulls. I like Hibbert a lot as well, but definitely prefer Hawes over him. I worry about his bulk at the next level. They way he developed from a joke as a freshman to a stud now as he showed all season and in the NCAA tournament is about as an impressive development as one can have at the college level. He plays totally above the rim which is a concept a lot of young big man don't grasp for a while. If he can add muscle he could have a solid career. The player I hope the Bulls don't touch in a million years is Noah. I don't see him being a good NBA player.

I could go on and on about him. I think you've got the right draft, but the wrong comparison. I see Oden-Durant as more of a Dream-MJ situation, where you take the HoF quality center over the HoF quality anything else because of scarcity. I'm also not totally sold on Durant being better than Oden long term, but I do like him a lot.

I wasn't really comparing that draft I just know the media and probably the fan base would hang their FO out to dry if they took Durant over Oden. They passed on MJ for Bowie now they are passing on Oden (who per most people already is a lock 10-time all-star and HOFer ) for the percieved lesser player and perhaps less of a 'sure thing' in Durant. May 23, 200719 yr The Bulls are as close to running a system like Phx than most teams in the league.. just not at their level and we actually play defense. I was so underwhelmed by Noah, i hope to god we dont take him. I'm not worried about it though.. his personality is on the opposite of what Pax and Skiles go for.
May 23, 200719 yr I don't get why Noah would be a good candidate for a running team. He always seemed to get winded pretty easily to me when I've seen him and he doesn't do any one thing very well. You use top-10 picks on future NBA starters, not on bench or 'emotion' guys.

And fwiw, I think Portland takes Oden and moves Randolph I wouldn't be surprised if Phoenix seriously considers moving Amare in a blockbuster deal. Then again, though, superstars never get full value in the NBA. Maybe Amare for KG? It's been speculated before.
May 23, 200719 yr Good for Portland. I don't see them passing on Oden, and I think that is the right move. If Durant injured his right wrist to the point where he could only shoot FTs with his left hand and came back asap with limited practice, would he have been nearly as effective? The upside Oden showed in the UF game looked like the tip of the iceberg of what could come, and with limited true big men in the game now and in the future, he should destroy the NBA. BTW, Jack isn't a bad backup PG, IMO. However, I watched Portland pretty often and was EXTREMELY impressed with their rookie backup, Sergio Rodriguez. Sure he played limited minutes, but had a 3-1 Ast/TO ratio and was pretty electric with the ball.

May 23, 200719 yr I don't see the Amare deal, but it's been sent around for a week or so by now and (usually) there's fire attached to the smoke. Does that mean he's moved? Nope. But I'm sure they'll at least listen to talk about anyone except Nash.

I wouldn't make the move if I was them, though I would certainly be open to dealing anyone not named Nash/Amare to pick up one more great player. I haven't heard a word about Amare being available... linkage? Podcast/TV musings from Simmons/Wilbon/Patrick.....might be just throwing it around but they all mentioned it at one point or another.

It came from a Bill Simmons idea because the Suns, with Nash's age and cap situation, are more win now than people think. The idea is that Duncan kills them and Garnett would be much better suited to limit Garnett than Stoudemire. I guess since the goal is always just to win championships, if this gives them the chance to win now, then it would be worth it in his eyes.
