Game 2 thoughts

Blame lies on 8 runs allowed, including 4 by the bullpen.

Blame lies on Lee Gardner giving up 3 in the ninth, and even more blame on Fredi for trying to get more than 3 outs out of him.

Bad call by Fredi. Bad pitching most everywhere around. Bad defense. If it wasn't for Uggla and Hanley, this wouldn't have been a win possibility. We deserved to lose.

Point well taken

With all due respect, this is a team, we win together and we lose together. Fun thing about this game is that there can be a different hero every night.

I was at the game tonight, and it was a thrilling 9th. Disappointing ending, but a wonderful comeback. It was almost too much to ask of the Marlins to win. A few observations:

1. Kim pitched a decent game. Nothing dominant, but he kept us in it. In one of his at-bats, the bat slipped out of his hands and flew into the Phillies' dugout, which got an ovation from the crowd.

2. Cabrera's single in the 1st was one of the hardest hit singles I've ever seen.

3. Uggla and Hanley killed the ball.

I thought of everyone here during the rally, and got Boone's at-bat on video. I didn't get a good look at whether Hanley was safe, but Barajas and Charlie Manuel were absolutely livid about the call.

I can't seem to embed this vid:

nice video wish we couldve won. If you guys look closely during hanley slide Reggie is just looking at the play instead of running to third. If you look reggie is rounding 2nd when hanley is rounding thrid. What a moron. prob couldve won on the wild pitch. Lets go D train

Most likely could have made it standing up.

Yeah, and considering the fact that Hanley was presumably out by a mile it couldn't have hurt for him to keep running. I mean, at that point, the Phillies were concerned about getting Hanley at the plate, not Reggie going to third.

Yup.

I'm not piling on Reggie because you can't say his baserunning cost us, convincingly, but that's a fundamental you get chewed out for in high-school yet it seems we have one of these every other night.

What was wrong with Willingham last night, he had his bat on his shoulder all game. Showed a little too much patience, although he walked twice.

Gardner will go down when Owens is ready to come back.

You got a source on this or is it a bold claim?

Educated guess.

Werd that's what I figured. It seems logical.
