August 30, 200719 yr An elementary school has banned tag on its playground after some children complained they were harassed or chased against their will. "It causes a lot of conflict on the playground," said Cindy Fesgen, assistant principal of the Discovery Canyon Campus school. Running games are still allowed as long as students don't chase each other, she said. Fesgen said two parents complained to her about the ban but most parents and children didn't object. In 2005, two elementary schools in the nearby Falcon School District did away with tag and similar games in favor of alternatives with less physical contact. School officials said the move encouraged more students to play games and helped reduce playground squabbles. http://apnews.myway.com/article/20070830/D8RBARRG2.html I always love how the most vocal usually always get their way with stuff like this.
August 30, 200719 yr that's idiotic i clicked on this link thinking they were talking about the body spray, which is an issue out here what ever happened to letting kids be kids and giving them some leway to work things out on their own - it's how you develop and the great thing is, being so young the stakes are really quite low on most occasions

I would agree to banning the body spray because it smells terrible without the added scent of sweat and ass. But this is just :| .
August 30, 200719 yr i clicked on this link thinking they were talking about the body spray, which is an issue out here Why?
August 30, 200719 yr because these sweaty little kids who are just starting to hit puberty have abandoned deodorant proper for industrial sized cans of tag - the smell is overwhelming - not only does it smell terrible, it's very strong and kind of just hovers in the air many schools have banned it because it was making it hard for everyone (teachers included) to breathe and concentrate think of that kid you knew back in HS who wore too much cologne - now make the smell worse, stronger and multiple by 20
August 30, 200719 yr Understandable. Nothing wrong with a lil Axe/Tag/Old Spice, but it's not a substitute for deodorant.
August 30, 200719 yr man, its f***ed up how ball-less we are as a society now a days... i mean, what i remember most about middle school isnt the classes or anything, but f***in recess playing tag, burnball and all that cool sh*t... it teaches kids how to play well with others, teamwork and other sh*t... our society is full of f***in tree huggers who do nothing but f*** up good sh*t cause it could hurt someone or some sh*t... f*** that. pretty soon, theyre gonna do away with contacts sports and kids will have to sit around and take yoga. i know that these games could lead to some scuffles and sh*t, but theyre also a part of growing up and learning how to deal with sh*t.. grow some f***in balls, you tree huggers!
August 31, 200719 yr When I saw the thread title, I thought they meant the body spray and I thought, "seriously? What a bunch of tight-asses!" Now I with is was the body spray, because this is pure bulls***. How the f*** is anyone every going to learn how to deal with conflict when everyone is isolated from every source of contention at an early age. You want kids to fight, a little, because it is at an age before they can really hurt each other.
August 31, 200719 yr i clicked on this link thinking they were talking about the body spray, which is an issue out here Me too. This is pretty lame. It's only a matter of time before rolling down a hill is banned... Anyone up for a game of "Smear the Queer" or "King of the Hill?" *puffs out man chest*
August 31, 200719 yr I broke a girl's arm playing Red Rover in 7th grade. I broke a girls arm ice skating. :| I still got her number though - she wrote it on the back of a Wrigleys wrapper. :hat

Anyone up for a game of "Smear the Queer" or "King of the Hill?" *puffs out man chest* most definitely - after a good snow all the kids from around the town would meet up in the parking lots where they would plow the snow into gigantic snow mountains and just wrestle our way to the top- falling, laughing, learning to not cross the line and learning the consequence if you pushed to far all my friends and I would just flat out abuse each other in games of recreation - 100x more intense than tag - no one really ever got hurt though - just boys being boys, rough housing and blowing off some energy

And that's why we didn't all have ADD! We would get our energy out on the playground and be [more] sedate for class!

And I mean that in the good way~ :mischief Thank God there's still "King chase Queen". I love when elementary teachers ask and some boy volunteers to be the queen!!!
