September 13, 200719 yr Author The guy is NOT Kevin Wehner. Wehner has been identified and is at the Jacksonville Police Dept. The guy MDPD wants is 25-year-old Shawn Sherwin Labeet. LABEET is armed & dangerous. If you see him, or think you see him, call 9-1-1. Suspect drove a white Honda Accord, lives in Margate (Broward Co.) and could be anywhere in either county if you look at the dragnet.

Just FYI, its an investigation not a "wild goose chase". A female who was contacted during the investigation gave police a false information in reference to the suspects real identity. True, but at the same time, cops have to realize the possibility of a loved one lying to them so that the suspect could get ahead. Miami-Dade police acted too fast today, instead of using their heads. When they released the "new" picture of "Kevin Whener" even my 80 year old grandmother realized that the man in the pictures wasn't the same person. I understand they want to catch this scumbag as fast as possible and bring closure to the victim's family, but the whole situation was mishandled in my opinion.
September 14, 200719 yr Yeah the guy's girlfriend lied for him and gave people the name of an identity he had stolen. They caught him about an hour ago, better said, they killed him about an hour ago in an apartment in Pembrooke Pines. Its sad to say, but it had to be done, an example had to be made.
