I think that Caray was better with the Cubs then he was when I heard him this year, but I don't dislike him. We'll have to see how he does in the DS. Plus, I met the guy in Chicago and he was nice as hell so maybe I'm just biased. :lol

I'm used to Chip Caray doing the Magic and Gators on Sun Sports, but the Cubs/WGN stint wasn't that bad.

One big change is that TBS has exclusive rights, no over-the-air simulcast in the home cities of the teams playing anymore.

 

great, lock cable-less users out of the playoffs. but i guess most local stations wouldn't pre-empt important prime time programming for playoffs anyway. but still bad.

 

but chip caray still sucks. he was better on wgn, but way too often this year, he gets cubs biased during braves vs. cubs on tbs, forcing me to turn to len kasper instead. chip isn't like his dad, he's more like joe buck.

Chip is a Cubs fan. He only did Braves games this year, I feel, because it meant him getting the TBS gig which means that the Braves will be back to just Skip, Pete, Joe, and Boog in 2008 as their quad with Chip doing radio work on the side every so often.

everybody loves raymond on right now, I thought I read the pregame started at 7, and no internet tv guide I've looked at has baseball schedules on TBS. please tell me they just haven't updated them :| :| :| :| :|

I don't think they are going to do a full pre-game because this is just the one game playoff.

Broadcast time at 7:30 PM EDT with first pitch at 7:37 PM EDT/5:37 PM MDT.

The new baseball graphics look good.

I'm really starting to like the TBS presentation. The graphics are good, the announcers aren't Berman or Buck, and I am loving that "game break" with Cal Ripken back at the studio.

Based on this last game alone, does anyone else thing that TBS's cover is superior to both Fox and ESPN? I really liked that studio thing with Cal.

Yeah, if they have that studio analysis inbetween innings like last night through the playoffs then I will be incredibly happy. Especially when they get The Big Hurt in there.

Why is it that the media always complains about the 10 pm start times in the first round? This is in reference to Mike Greenberg ranting about it on ESPN.
