IMO we need a pitcher starter, a reliever and a 3B.

 

I would like a lofton signing to groom maybin but tthat seems not possible.

 

Opinions on our needs and who could be our next signing target ?

id like to see kris benson as the SP....3b i feel will probably be cantu but i hope we trade for a young prospect whos ready to break out

ramp i do believe we could use some vet we can abuse and he can rack up the innings to save the young guys arms but we could always just bring up those triple-a pitchers. the bullpen will be fine and third base could use some help

The Mets are likely to non-tender Johnny Estrada, according to the New York Daily News.

New York acquired Estrada last month, but then made him expendable with the trade for Brian Schneider. With Washington out of the picture after signing Paul Lo Duca, Estrada's chances to land another starting gig are drying up.

We need a 3B who can catch, forget about Cantu. I would rather have Amezaga start becasue he is solid defensively. We dont need any RP or SP, a trade for Laroche would be great but I think its unrealistic

I expect Morgan to find a contender (Cleveland, Minn, Yankees for 1B, Milwaukee, etc) to go play for, but it would be nice if we could scoop him up.

It looks like Mark Prior's going to be non-tendered. Loria and Beinfest should be camping in Prior's front yard, so that they can be first in line once it becomes official.

While Fukudome was in Japan weighing offers from the Cubs, Padres and Sox, after formally announcing he was leaving Japan, Hendry was in Chicago, waiting for an answer while preparing to make a decision on the pitcher once called "Franchise" by some of his teammates.

 

Hendry must offer Prior arbitration Wednesday or non-tender him and make him a free agent. Barring a last-minute trade or the unlikely occurrence of Prior signing a one-year deal with an option, the one-time ace and building block for the future seems headed for the non-tender list.

I'd be surprised if he was. But even if he is, he'd be out of our price range.

It seems Baltimore is going to acquire Adam Jones, Jeff Clement, and others for Bedard. Now the O's have Wieters waiting in the wings does anyone think we can set a trade with them for Clement? They need a SS would say a package of Gaby H. and Andino get it done?

I really hope this is true. Gregg is a natural fit for Baltimore and they would probably value him a little more than most franchises. I don't think he by himself could net Clement, but package him with some sort of SP and grab something back from Baltimore and that seems like a realistic scenario. Baltimore loves closers and saves!! Balt has another nice young catcher, Snyder, behind Wieters in A ball too. Organizational depth wouldn't be effected. They would easily move Clement for pitching.

 

And dare I say Uggla makes a lot of sense if they move Roberts

I think from the Marlins' perspective, they've already found their catcher.
