March 2, 200818 yr According to Yahoo! Sports, the Dolphins have decided to move Jason Taylor. I can't copy and paste the entire article so here's the link. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=jc-t...o&type=lgns It sucks to see him go but this team is in complete rebuilding mode and we should get some nice pieces for him.
March 2, 200818 yr Bill Parcells: Jason, you can shop yourself anywhere-any 30 NFL Teams. JasoN Taylor: Don't you mean 31 NFL teams? Bill: No, 30- The Patriots are in a league of their own, and you can't go there. Jason Taylor: Does this mean I am going to Dallas? Bill: Yep.
March 2, 200818 yr Wasn't it reported the other day that he WOULDN'T be moved? What the hell's going on.
March 2, 200818 yr Wasn't it reported the other day that he WOULDN'T be moved? What the hell's going on. Keeping JT does nothing for the future of that franchise. If it's an amicable breakup, then it's perfect, however, it'd be best for the Dolphins if JT were traded for a couple of picks or something, he could even wind up being released. Why keep Taylor in limbo in Miami, with no shot to win a title for AT LEAST 2 years when you can get something for him to accelerate that process allowing the 'Phins to get better. As for whether or not it's reported that he'll stay or go, I'd just assume he's gone until the first game he suits up.
March 2, 200818 yr ESPN.com Dolphins executive vice president of football operations Bill Parcells told ESPN's Chris Mortensen that defensive end Jason Taylor will be playing for Miami in 2008 unless he chooses to retire, contrary to a published report. Yahoo Sports reported Saturday night that Taylor, an 11-year veteran who has played all of his 172 career games for the Dolphins, would be parting ways with Miami this offseason before the NFL draft this April. "This latest report is just another example of journalistic irresponsibility," Parcells told Mortensen.

In reality, the dolphins are not going to contend next year. Next offseason Jason Taylor has little to no value because he will turn 35 before the season starts. If he were traded this year he would bring the dolphins something that will help them out in the future. It also lets him have a chance at a championship.

Those were nice addtions for depth, but none of them are stars by any means. Zach Thomas had more tackles in 5 games than Anderson, Ferguson and Starks had combined. I guess it all really depends on what they could get for Jason Taylor. Three DT just got traded for 3rd and 5th rounders, but they were all under 30. I am not sure what Taylor could get at age 34. If they can get a 3rd rounder for him, they would be foolish to not pull the trigger.

JT should probably get traded now. We arent going to contend for at least another 2 seasons, at which point he'll be 37. Why hold on to him on an awful team for 2 more years when you could get some young players who can actually help us down the road?
March 27, 200818 yr Well, I doubt Parcells lets Taylor go. He's the only thing people come to the stadium to watch for nowadays. The sameday I bought my season tickets, Parcells released Thomas, and announced he was rebuilding
